June LSAT Waiters Thread

Post by ChaimtheGreat » Mon Jun 11, 2018 10:36 pm

Hello all!

I hope everyone had a great test! I thought it would be a good idea to create a separate thread in which we can discuss the test and bite our nails till grey day!

Couple things- Naturally, please do not discuss specific questions on the LSAT. Please do not says something like, "I got (C) for the one that talked about octopus mating" (made up but c'mon, that could be real). Mods can do a better job than I can of regulating this thread but please follow all LSAC rules and regulations. It is in your best interest and this site’s.

Secondly some important dates. According to LSAC, you should get an email with your score on June 29th. For those without an online account, you will get your score by mail on July 6th.

You may cancel your score within 6 days of taking the test. If you are sending a follow up letter to LSAC based on a complaint about your test center you must send this letter within 6 days of taking the test.

If anyone has anything to add please let me know. Otherwise, happy waiting!

UPDATE:

It is Gray Day! Scores are coming in throughout the day so make sure to check in with LSAC! Scores should be available online and through email. Good luck everyone!

Didn't finish the game section. Didn't even get a chance to fill in bubbles for the last two. Felt good on all the other Qs in that section, and finished all the other sections with 5 minutes left over. Apparently the mosquito section is the real one (I had 3 LR) which was my first LR. Still feel pretty solid about the whole thing though.

Killorian thinks it’s a -10 or a -11. I think probably -10 but a -9 isn’t impossible (gulp). I don’t think it will be -7 though I could be wrong. What makes you think that?

Definitely think it's -10, it's a little harder than last year's June test.

Or at least that's what I'm telling myself considering I think I got 4 wrong on LG alone.

I think and hope it's a -10. LG is easy, but RC is a little bit more difficult than usual. LR is about the same.

I'm bouncing between 176 and 156. Reading folks on Reddit about the LR and RC questions has me second guessing myself even tho during the test I felt okay.

I don't even get how people remember the test so well. I only tried to remember the LGs leaving the test, because I had two sections and wanted to figure out which was experimental, and I could barely recall anything about them.

Lol me as well. I remembered the RC topics but none of the questions, maybe 2 LR questions and then the last LG which thank God was experimental. Did you have a weird game G4 for your experimental? I think there were 2 different ones out there.

My G4 experimental setup was something like this:

[redacted]

So neither completely new nor completely conventional, but I didn't think it was too hard except for the rule sub. I got a rule sub for the G2 experimental too that I thought was really hard. Both rule sub questions seemed much harder than any I can recall from my prep. If that's what LSAC is moving towards in LG, oh man...

Yeah, that is the demon game. I thought it sucked, but I was a bit strapped for time after G3 then realized it wasn't totally conventional. I don't think the LSAC is going that direction at all, they do the exp LGs to gauge how people jive with the questions as to not totally floor everyone.... I have no idea how viruses from PT79 slipped through the cracks lol.

RC passage 3 was interesting on how short A was. I was only not sure on 3 of those, but we'll see if lady luck is on my side.
I did a game the week before the test with a remarkably similar setup so I was pretty prepared for it, but since it was experimental I guess it doesn't matter anyway haha

I pretty much ignored the superpreps for this retake, guess it bit me lol.
God I was so happy finding out it was exp, I thought the real LG was stupid easy and finished it in ~20 minutes, checked literally every answer and have never been more confident it was a -0. RC, not so much.

I had LR as my experimental and am having a hard time learning which LR questions were experimental or not. I am interested in your thoughts on the curve though?

I remember from my LR:
Loons
Some Japanese painting one
Hospitals and them not using a washing machine
my memory is pretty foggy but drop some topics and I can see what I can do.

I can see the curve being single digit. It felt a bit like June17, but with a slightly more challenging LR, but Killoran has proven correct in the past so a -10/11 is a reasonable guess...... Then again the more I think the more I think I got a 156

I settled in on -10 as the final prediction. Here's to hoping I'm wrong though, and it's -14 :)

Hey DKilloran,

It's a combination of things, but largely comes from talking to a wide variety of test takers (including students and instructors) combined with the experience of doing this over the years. There's also a sort of algorithm we use to make the calculations as well, and when we combine all those factors, we're usually able to get it right or get pretty close.

For this particular test, there were certainly harder elements (Bonds game, Borges RC, a few LR) but overall the feedback wasn't that the test was devastatingly hard. Lot of people felt LR was very reasonable and even in LG the first three games weren't terrible. Add all that on top of a 100 question test, and you start seeing the signs of a slightly tighter scale.
