Depressed

Is anyone else seriously depressed by this entire application process? I feel defeated, and it's only just the beginning.

If you're this easily depressed you probably shouldn't go to law school. It's way more depressing than the application process

I hate everything about applications. They never really get any less awful, but you do get better at writing cover letters and bugging supervisors for rec letters.

Can't imagine why it would be if it's filled with uplifting people, like yourself.

What stage in the process are you in? Once you finish up the applications, I remember it getting better / easier / less overwhelming.

Don't let it get to you. The fun is just beginning :)

But in all seriousness, once you submit apps, your mind will feel so much better. Trust me.

Also, the back end of getting accepted to places and being able to visit can be a fun rush. One key to really enjoying the decision-making process though is to avoid getting hooked on the idea of yourself at any one place to which you aren't yet accepted. Let the imagination take over once there are real options on the table.

Good luck. You'll do great!

The LSAT/application process is seriously depressing. I had a really hard time getting through it so I know how you feel. The waiting part is full of nervous anticipation. The acceptance/deciding where to go part was, for me, one of the most exciting and uplifting times of my life. Law school itself can be pretty depressing at times, but overall its manageable.

Hey guys, your "being a lawyer sucks" advice isn't helpful. Stop. If you don't have anything productive to add, just get off the post. Sheesh
