In this thread UVA2B says that Hammys/Butlers are offered contingent on your financial aid app: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=281848

Can anyone confirm this?
Definitely not the case. Hammys and Butlers come with the acceptance email, and if you get a Hammy you don't have to fill out CSS at all. With a Butler you still can, because you might be eligible for additional need based aid.

Source got a Hammy in 2016.

Have heard back from a few schools I'd love to go to so far and feeling good, but still have 8 to go, and hoping to hear good news from my top choice before Christmas :) How's your cycle going?

It's going well! Most of the schools I applied to have not made any decisions yet. Perhaps "How would you celebrate getting into your top choice?"

Hey all - I'm still a little fuzzy on some things with FAFSA. So I know you can fill it out ahead of time and choose which schools to send it to. Do you just put your most educated guesses on which schools will need it? And how do you handle it if you are applying to more schools than FAFSA will allow you to select? Are schools able to go and look you up or can you add an additional school later...? Basically, I'd rather send it to schools that accept me and not waste it on places where I'm WL or dinged. How do you do this most efficiently? Thanks!

Current 1L here! Last year I submitted my FASFA to schools I Thought were good shots/those who seemed to place a great deal of emphasis on it for scholarship consideration. That being said, FASFA is used for need based aid and every school is going to have a different application process and timeline they’d like you to follow. I’m assuming that it’s your intention to apply for need-based aid so it’s perfectly fine for you to fill it all out and wait to send it to schools as you’re accepted. But schools cannot access your profile if you don’t send it to them. FASFA also asks for last years tax information for you and your parents so you should have that done already unless you received a tax extension and you’ve yet to submit your 2017 taxes. Many schools require parental information on FASFA until you’re either 30 or 35 so be mindful that you may need to fill that portion out even though FASFA itself will tell you it’s not required.

Anyone know how fast ASWs fill up? I was planning on holding off until I get scholly info (late Jan-Feb I assume) but I'd hate to miss the boat on ASW registration.

Hm, might do that then. It's probably easier to sign up and cancel than try to squeeze in at the last minute.

Also probably depends on which ASW...
