Congrats! Did you receive the offer via email or mail? If you don’t mind sharing, which time zone are you in? (I’m guessing Pacific based on your username.)

If it's helpful- I got the Vanderbilt for full tuition through email but they sent a mailed letter too. I am not the user on LSN or reddit

Edit: I received it yesterday

Congrats! Have you filled out NYU’s financial aid forms yet? If so, when did you fill them out? I need to fill mine out ASAP, lol!

Thanks! I actually was too lazy to fill them out at all haha. So I think you can still get it without filling them out!

Lol, thanks for the info! My Hamilton offer has made me procrastinate filling all of these forms out. When I read NYU's financial aid email last night, they sounded like they needed the forms before making a decision (or required applicants to email them stating they were only interested in merit aid), which made me think that I needed to scramble to get their forms in. But clearly, the forms are not required for Vanderbilts! Congratulations once again on one of the best possible law school admission outcomes!

Congratulations!! What date was the letter postmarked, if you don't mind sharing?

I typed out a whole reply to this, but realized that I did it in the "report post" box. Sorry!

So,

I received an email that seemed to assume that I had already received my Vanderbilt letter (in the mail, perhaps). It was one telling me more about the program and attached to it was the scholarship letter, dated about two weeks ago. I checked my inbox and didn't find any other email announcing it. I received the email around noon PST, yesterday.

Do we have any idea how much leverage a Harvard acceptance offers for financial aid negotiations? I assume it could raise $ —> $$, but what about $$ —> $$$ or $$$ —> $$$$?

At what point would it be an insult to NYU to try and increase a scholarship with H as your best bargaining chip?

I think you would be right to assume $->$$, or nothing -->$, but I'm skeptical an H acceptance alone could be enough leverage to push someone over a 1/2 scholarship at T6 (I would even say T10). I guess a part of it depends on your stats, if you are above their 75ths, it could lead to a much better result.

Anyone else wish NYU was closer to Central Park or something? I love New York, but oof the lack of green space is jarring.

YES. It was a bit overwhelming for me at first.. and I'm a city kid. Definitely going to make an effort to live by Central Park or Prospect Park in Brooklyn, both for my doggo and my sanity!
Haha, glad I'm not alone. Good plan. Thinking about that for 2L and 3L - I'll prob go with campus first year, especially since no other creatures or people joining me.

Anyone know when we can expect to receive our housing assignments?
