Checking in! Sent an email to my off-campus interviewer earlier this week. I'm a little nervous about how the interview will go, but I think it will be fine.

Hey guys, I got my alumni interview assignment last week (right after I posted here actually)- I emailed the person right away but I haven't heard anything back from them yet. Are there any guidelines on how long to wait before following up with another email?

I waited about a week before I sent a reminder email.

Has anyone done the online video interview this cycle? I was under the impression it was 30 sec prep time, 1 min answer time per question, but the FAQs say "Assessments always vary, but most questions take about 3-5 minutes to complete."

I took the online interview, and you're right that it's 30 seconds prep time and 1 minute to answer the question. The FAQ may refer to the downtime before and after the question? That's my only guess.

Somehow I managed to absolutely mangle my response to the most predictable question that was asked while doing okay on the rest.

Checking in! Going to have my off-campus interview on Tuesday. Any particularly curve-ball questions I should be aware of?

My interviewer asked me to give two weakness and two things I'd like admissions to know about me that I hadn't already said. Was not prepared for the second one of each.

I think each off campus interviewer is different. Based on research from past threads I've seen it varies from a casual conversation to more formal job interview-type questions. I have mine on Tuesday as well and I'm just preparing for why law, why Northwestern and talking about my resume/experience.

I had mine last week. It was extremely casual. My interviewer said it was more for me to learn about the school than for them to learn about me.

Checking back in - interview was pretty relaxed. My interviewer had some questions that NU had given him but it was mostly a conversation about my background, why law school, and why NU. He said he really enjoyed his time at NU but also emphasized the importance of networking/getting hands on experience during school.

So I noticed on the status checker that I am still marked incomplete, despite having completed my off-campus interview in the first week of the month. Should I contact the admissions office to ask for an update?

Also, if I do contact the office, how should I address the email? Would "Dear Admissions Officer, etc. etc." work?

In past threads it's taken anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks for applications to be marked complete post-interview. At this point though I think it's totally fine to email admissions and ask what's up. They might just be swamped with apps right now, or your interviewer took a while to submit their evaluation to admissions.

When I've emailed admissions for other things I've just addressed it with "Hello." They get a zillion emails so I doubt the salutation makes a difference.

This almost exact thing happened to me. I called the admission office, and they told me they had some technical issues with the status checker, but that their internal systems had marked my application as complete at the appropriate time, so it wouldn't affect the timing of my decision. About an hour after I called, my status checker was updated.

In that case, I'll call them soon! Thank you very much for your response!

EDIT: just got off the phone with someone at the admissions office. Looks like we had a similar situation happen, but my file has been marked as complete at the appropriate time. Hope to hear good news from them in the near future!
