This might be a very dumb question, but they specify that all interviews are scheduled in EDT and I want to make sure I understand. If an interview is 1:00pm EDT, since daylight savings time ends this Sunday, does that mean the interview will be at 12:00pm? Should I ask them about this?

You should absolutely not ask them this

If you sign up for a 12pm interview slot it'll be at 12pm. Don't overthink it.

That’s like not how it works.

Seems like this wave was fairly large from the number of slots available.
Congrats everyone! More people to contemplate KJ2/JS2's with haha

I counted ~20 spots each day, so maybe around 80?

Does anyone have a estimate of the conversion rate of JS1's to JS2's? This year could be totally different given the earlier timeline and KJ taking over.

Class of 2021
Number of Applications: 7,578
Number of Admission Offers: 968
Percentage Offered Admission: 12.8%
Newly Enrolled 1Ls: 560

I've seen old TLS threads that float around numbers from 1,200 to 1,400 JS1's but not sure if that's accurate.
Obviously a JS1 is a good sign and in no way just a formality, but how else am I supposed to spend my rainy weekend here??!!

Friends who have had JS1s, were the questions pretty much what you would expect? Any curve balls?

Nothing curveball-y, but definitely know your application. Had more than a few questions specific to my resume and experience.

Last year, they asked me what I'd look for in other applicants if I were on the admissions committee, which threw me though it may not be a true curveball! I think there's a LOT of types of questions they can ask so don't be afraid to take time to think on your answers, just like any interview ☺️ They also asked me what I do to relax (I was like 'i wish I had a better answer for this ' lol) and something important about me that I didn't think came through in my application materials.

To all those who have done JS1 — congrats! And, how many people were interviewing you? Thank you!

Does anyone from the first round remember how many interview slots there were? All I can recall was that there were 3-4 days.

3 days, I think, and I estimated around ~25 total based on what I could see - but I didn't check until late in the day, and the non-available slots disappear. Maybe someone who checked earlier can give a more accurate estimate.

Oh hm, interesting - I saw someone on reddit (I think?) post that there were fewer slots for the first wave than the second, but I'm not sure if that's true then.

I was seeing estimates for the second wave at ~80. I also think the much greater amount of reported JS1s on the internet would indicate the second wave was larger.

Are they usually on Fridays? The admissions blog says starting in December!
