I don't think anyone has gone UR again after being WL, so we may be waiting just to be reviewed again... But then, NYU does seem to be deviating from its pattern, so maybe they've done away with WL UR1/2?

This would be amazing, but I’m not hopeful. I’m guessing we’ll start seeing some UR movement next week.robinacrewood wrote: ↑Mon May 28, 2018 7:58 pmI don't think anyone has gone UR again after being WL, so we may be waiting just to be reviewed again... Honestly though, any sort of communication at this point would be welcome so we can know what to expect with the WL. Other T13 schools have at least sent emails saying their class is full and not to expect much WL movement.

I just feel like other T-13 schools are quietly poaching a lot of people off of NYU's Waitlist.
NYU must know this. Either they don't care or they just don't plan on dipping much into the WL this year.

I don't have anything productive to add except that.

lol I feel that too. If the class was full, you'd have to hope they'd at least let us know! Most schools have given updates. The total silence is killer.covfefe wrote: ↑Wed May 30, 2018 2:25 pmUghhhhhhhhhhShaheen678 wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 2:18 pmI just feel like other T-13 schools are quietly poaching a lot of people off of NYU's Waitlist.

I have a question for people here!
Till when do you plan to wait for NYU? Don't we have to sign a lease for a school that has accepted us at some point?

Re: NYU Waitlist c/o 2021
To be totally honest with you, I am pushing this question off till June 1.
...Wait fucking shit that's Friday.
Okay.
I am pushing this off until Friday.

Re: NYU Waitlist c/o 2021
I personally would wait till the very end to go to NYU even with no financial aid.
I'll even break my lease if I have to.
But seems highly unlikely at this point.
Re: NYU Waitlist c/o 2021
I keep going back and forth between feeling desolate that it's so late and they haven't started accepting people, and encouraged that it's late but they haven't started releasing people. If they were hopelessly full, one could HOPE that they'd be able to start culling pretty quickly. But also, it's NYU and who knows.
My fingers are crossed that this is a new waitlist strategy that tracks more with CLS

Re: NYU Waitlist c/o 2021
I keep going back and forth as well. I get worried that all of this means that they're overenrolled, but how could they possibly be? The early numbers from this cycle suggested that there was a huge surge in high-scoring applicants, and NYU must've known that. I therefore can't imagine that they admitted more people this year than they have the last few years. If they're overenrolled, it's because more people they admitted decided to enroll than in past years. But why would that be the case? We know there was space at H because a good chunk of people got off their WL already. And, if anything, the fact that Michigan, Penn, and UVA are overenrolled actually suggests that they attracted more people from NYU with scholarship dollars than they normally do.covfefe wrote: ↑Thu May 31, 2018 9:49 amI keep going back and forth between feeling desolate that it's so late and they haven't started accepting people, and encouraged that it's late but they haven't started releasing people. The only explanation for being overenrolled, as far as I can tell, is a potential surge in double depositing. And if that's true, it menas that there will be some freeing up of spots eventually. Furthermore, if that's true, then NYU's strategy would be wait and see. It would have the additional advantage of responding to H and Columbia when their waitlisting is said and done.

From a brave soul over at Reddit who called:
Just called. A nice lady responded that they will try to move as quickly as possible, there might be movements around this time of the year based on previous years...no definitive answer given on WL movements and there's no need to do anything other than remain on WL.

That’s like, the worst non-answer answer they could give, I hate this being in the dark BSDogcatcher1 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 04, 2018 3:06 pmFrom a brave soul over at Reddit who called:

Went UR again yesterday, just received a feeler email. Email mentions "possibility that the Admissions Committee will make a limited number of additional offers within the coming week" and asks for reiterated interest by 5:00p Wednesday. Only need-based scholarships, limited amount of Law School housing left.

Just got the same email and went UR today. Not gonna lie, I'm excited, but also a little worried. NYU is an awesome school with an equally awesome (read: massive) bill. I just can't go if I don't get some financial help. Does anyone know how likely/how good NYU need-based aid is off the waitlist?industwetrust wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 3:43 pmWent UR again yesterday, just received a feeler email. Bad. I was offered no money, appealed, and lost. Later in the summer when I got off the waitlist at Chicago with money, NYU still refused to budge. Expect to pay sticker.amcjv12 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 4:07 pmJust got the same email and went UR today. Not gonna lie, I'm excited, but also a little worried. To those of you who have been contacted - do you mind if I ask your stats relative to the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles?
