Empty speculation - If this week ends without a JS1 wave, would that increase the odds for a JS2 wave next week? And vice versa, if we do get a JS1 wave. It looks like last cycle had just over a week between the JS1 wave (Thurs, Dec 7) and the first JS2 wave (Mon, Dec 18).
I was thinking the same thing.
To add a line of speculation, if JS1s do come out but are scheduled for the week of the 17th, then I think its for sure next week.
Hmm, smart thinking.

There was a question earlier about whether there will be a December wave. In a communication I had with the admissions office a few days ago they told me (without prompting) that they would start admitting applicants this month.

I am 95% sure there will be a wave in the next week because they unlocked the admitted students' portal and it's almost totally set up - it hasn't been available to me as a deferral til this week, and I've been checking because I was worried Admit Weekend would line up with a vacation I have scheduled over spring break, because it did last year.

Also, just FYI Admit Weekends are 3/29-30 (with Intersections, a diversity-based extension, the 28th) and 4/12-13 (with Intersections 4/11).

I can't tell you how much I appreciate you doing this!
It lessens the anxiousness, if just by a little bit.

No worries AT ALL. I always question whether it's worth it to post small updates because I don't want to increase nerves but then I remember how neurotic I was last year (like, 25 pages deep into TLS threads from 2014 hahaha) and go ahead and post.

Ah, super exciting! Hope it's this Monday. I was also digging through previous years TLS's threads haha.

The first JS2 waves for the last few years have been Monday (Dec 18 2017), Monday (Dec 19 2016), Tuesday (Dec 8 2015), and Monday (Dec 15 2014).

I'm not sure how to create a formal poll, but it would be fun to predict when the next JS2 wave will be. I guess you can quote this comment with your prediction.

A) Week of Dec 10
B) Week of Dec 17
C) They aren't accepting anyone this year - there will be no wave!

Gonna wait a few more hours and see if they do a JS1 wave, but tentatively A. Based on previous cycles, guessing Monday.
Jk, definitely C.

Hopefully, they increase the size of their first wave this year and admit more students!

I will say tentatively that it is likely. But, as mentioned previously, it may be really small.
