Also got an invite yesterday morning. They'll definitely have more coming seeing as the deadline is still a while away

For those who got invites, when did you all apply?

If you haven't gotten an SEO interview invite yet, don't freak out. I didn't even apply until the middle of January during my admissions process and did the program and there were plenty of others in my SEO class who applied around the same time or later.

Thanks for the encouragement. When did you finally receive an interview invite? I applied mid-December, and I'm sure they've reviewed my application (as in a follow-up email, they told me to clarify certain information on my application), yet I wasn't included in the first wave of invitations.

Interview waves can also be dependent on Van Ann figuring out her schedule to travel to your particular city so I can’t echo cardboard enough when I say not to worry about it. It’s incredibly early. Word of advice, be sure to update your list of schools on the application as you receive acceptances!

Understood. Thank you. Would you say they send out invites based on candidates' preferred locations? I'm trying to figure out if the interview-invite schedule operates on a regional basis.

Doubt it is on a regional basis because the interview options had all regions. I applied mid November and am aiming for the Chicago or New York market.

Cycle’s moving slowly. I only heard back from Cornell (in!!) in the new year. I update my lawschoolnumbers account (Chun-li) more frequently

Hiiii, longtime lurker; first time poster. I'm AA. My cycle is almost complete: in at Stanford this past week (I was actually shocked), Harvard in December, plus NYU, Duke, Michigan, and Penn. Applied to SLS and HLS in early October. Did the others in through November and December. Waiting to hear from Yale.

I'm a reverse splitter (3.98 GPA; LSAT 167).

So, for other URM reverse splitters out there, I would definitely encourage you to apply as early as you can and shoot your shot. *Especially* if you have a strong academic background that tells a cohesive story that relates to what you want to do with the law. My lsat score hasn't limited me (logic games remain my enemy). The other parts of my app told a compelling story and show what I can do as a student.

Best of luck to everyone!

Yeah I would second all of this from a URM but non-AA perspective. Applied very early a couple cycles ago w/ a 3.95/171 combo, and I literally had the same results (down to month notified) as poster above from Harvard/Stanford. Although I would note that YLS strung me out till April and then tried to leave me on the waitlist (hope that doesn't happen to you!)

I also wound up going with the full tuition + stipend combo at a T6 over Harvard/Stanford, which I proselytize for in other forums, but would highly recommend here as well.

This.. a few years from now nobody will care what law school you went to (unless you are dead-set on clerking and doing something like appellate litigation), but not having any debt from law school will make your life 10000x easier down the road and grant you so much flexibility with what you want to do.
