Mass State Courts and Residency

Question about clerking in the Massachusetts state courts system:

The website for applying to clerkship positions states that only residents of Massachusetts may serve as employees of the judicial branch. The website quotes a 1978 statute which has now been rewritten. The new versions do not say anything about residency.

Do Mass courts require clerks to be residents of Mass or become residents?

Don't know. This is one you should probably email someone at the court and ask.
