Re: legal podcasts
I like Service Roads. It's Texas Law students interviewing public interest attorneys. Some really interesting interviewees include: James King (former NFL prospect who was wrongfully incarcerated; went to law school after leaving prison and is now with PDS in DC), Thomas Harvey (founder of Arch City Defenders in St. Louis), Ann Baddour (who focuses on fair financial services and predatory payday lenders), and Janelle Orsi (who uses transactional law to help people establish co-ops and other non-traditional joint community-based ventures).

Excited Utterance from Professor Chang at Vandy. It's exploring scholarship regarding the rules of evidence and courtroom procedure. Always very well put together and interesting!

Re: legal podcasts
Thanks for the First Mondays recommendation. I've been listening regularly for the past month or so. Great podcast. I really do enjoy the hosts, but this week's ep was a bit awkward at the end with the main host's rather dumb meandering position on women in top legal roles. I have the feeling that the co-host was "sick" specifically so they could bring in this woman who was a really great addition imo. I also enjoyed when Nina Totenberg talked over the two hosts and would not let them interrupt her earlier in the month.
Generally, really fascinating, and reminds me that I'm in the right profession (generally anyway) when I can finish a long day and still listen to the podcast on my drive home.

Personally, I'm a big fan of "Short Circuit," which is put out by the Institute for Justice. It has a libertarian lean (as one might expect) but they usually cover 3-4 interesting cases from various circuits.
Re: legal podcasts
I binged ALAB series over the last couple weeks. It's pretty good. It's basically a podcast calling out either hilariously dumb cases or shitty attorneys. The shitty atty episodes all either involve someone in the Jeffrey Epstein orbit or Alex Kozinski's orbit.
Also, woof @ looking back at the First Mondays posts (one of the ALAB episodes was about the rise and fall of Ian Samuel)
I'm guilty of being a first mondays listener too. no judgment.

Scotustalk from Scotusblog is good. Strict Scrutiny is good, too, but definitely has a liberal bent.

Tagging in.
From a practical, local standpoint, the Texas Appellate Law podcast is a good one. But it is both very practical and very local (a recent one was on getting supersedeas bonds in Texas).
