How are you California waiters passing the time? At least we're inside of a month

I passed!!

157.9 MBE 146 Written!

Results aren't supposed to come out for Oregon until 2pm tomorrow, but I live 5 minutes away from the Oregon state bar and I guess I got my letter a day early.

I don't know my breakdown yet because I've only got the letter, NCBE hasn't posted my scores.

Lots of people crushing it. Congrats! Sweating it out until Tuesday for NY. On one hand I missed it by two points in July and I studied alot smarter, felt more comfortable with the material. On the other, scores generally seem to be down and I think I botched an essay.

1. I completely forgot that undue influence was a thing on the family law question and blathered on about duress because I could not for the life of me remember undue influence
2. didn't get the name of any of the present covenents correct and only got the elements of one of the three vaguely correct
3. completely missed the mark on what the hell they were asking with the sanctions question regarding "who can be sanctioned" and rambled on with an argument about why only the lawyer is sanctioned and not the client rather than saying anything about the lawyer's firm, and the rest of that answer was just me barfing up the vague principal that sanctions are only appropriate for egregious conduct and blah blah blah
4. garbled the language of m'naughten and sort of gave something closer to the model penal code definition instead.

And that's just the stuff I stewed on, I completely tunnel visioned the partnership question and have no idea what I wrote, and I can't even remember what the other question was.

Also congrats to everyone else in this thread too, pass or not! I haven't congratulated anyone because I'm self-centered and have just been ruminating the entire time. And that's bad.

Same to most of this. But if you got a 146, here's to hoping I'm in good shape!

Shocker, but seriously congrats. It's a great feeling when it's official even though everyone told you you'd pass.

Did the California Bar just postpone the results date?! My admittance ticket says May 11th but now their website says a week later! Goddamn, and I found out just because like an idiot I was googling if they would release the results earlier this year. You can never dream enough with the CalBar huh...

Yes, May 18 is the officially confirmed date. They said during the exam that they would let us know the date results would be released at a later time (hinting that May 11th possibly wouldn't be the actual release date).

Passed! What. A. Relief. Congrats out there to those who also passed and head up to those who didn't. Seriously, this doesn't define who you are, and arguably it only defines you as a lawyer to the extent that you let it.

For future reference: 276 score, 141 MBE. Did 1500 adaptibar questions (probably 1000 within the last two weeks), most of the barbri MBE sets, and outlined 4-5 of the barbri essays while reading, issue spotting, and actively reviewing the model answers for the others. Cannot say enough good things about Seperac and his outlines. Those were a game changer for internalizing the nuances.

Good luck to everyone, especially those in states like CA which take forever. May the curve be ever in your favor!

At two weeks out I think about the results every 5 minutes, followed by playing with the one-timers calculator. This is so goddamn distracting while trying to study. I feel like one thing that could increase the pass rate would be releasing the scores earlier... People will start studying/focusing earlier. So painful.

So quiet here lately. I don't know if it's just the calm before the storm or what.

Not many states left waiting for results still, are there? I know California, because their wait time is bonkers.

I know, but aren't there a gazillion applicants in California? Anyway, I am one of them so I'm getting restless. Anyone from CA here left?

I'm here with you. It would have been nice getting results today like originally anticipated. Thanks CA Bar...

Yup. I really wonder why they said May 11th originally. Did they try to make the wait shorter and just failed miserably? Regardless, it's going to be a long week.

Maybe there were a lot of "re-reads"? Maybe they wanted to make us suffer more? Lol
