awesome. thanks for making the thread! very excited for yls but also have some questions

1. probably too early for this but what's the housing situation like for YLS? I'm guessing most people live off campus but when do we need to begin looking? Also read that Baker hall will be opening but only has 70 something rooms? which means it wouldn't be able to accommodate everyone. I'm just wondering what effect this new residential building will have on the 1L community. is it going to be middle school all over again?

2.Yale Forward seems cool but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra day since I also want to visit some other schools if possible? how many people are staying for Saturday?

1. Baker Hall has 50 doubles, 10 singles, and 1 efficiency (source https://housing.yale.edu/graduate-housi ... ugust-2018) There hasn't been on campusing housing specifically for law students since 2007 so it's hard to tell what the community will be like. I think asking people who live in Michigan's Lawyers Club might shed a light on what it's like to have law dorms connected to the law school.

2. I'm going to Yale Forward! It seems like an interesting day from looking at the schedule. I hope to see you there!

Checking in! Thanks for making this thread. I'm excited about Baker Hall! Unfortunately I have to leave Friday night of the Admitted Students Program so I won't be there for Saturday. Has anyone heard back about student hosts? It was unclear to me whether they would provide Wednesday night housing and I haven't booked my flight there yet.

I booked my train to come in Wednesday night since everything starts so early Thursday... so i'm crossing my fingers that they'll provide us housing Wednesday night.

Last week I got an email confirming that I requested a student host, but I haven't been given specific information about my host.

Was this separate from the automated ASP RSVP confirmation?

Interesting, ok thanks. I haven’t gotten that yet but I registered pretty recently so I’ll keep waiting.

I saw on the website that the application opens on April 23rd, but there wasn't much detail about how assignments are made or the timeline for that.

Not in at Yale (in at Harvard) but I read this and wanted to comment because I, too, am going through this. My professors said it is good to feel it now and to deal with it now.

Has anyone gotten an actual binder in the mail, or just the folder that came with the snuggie? Trying to figure out if I missed a package

I'm still in the utter shock/disbelief phase, but I'm sure I'll move on to impostor syndrome soon. :)

Same question. I also just got folder + Snuggie but saw the description here and wondered if there are other materials.

Admitted in december, and it's just the folder + snuggies

Definitely feeling impostor syndrome here as well!! I waiver between that and disbelief, sooo hopefully it'll all sink in at some point haha.

I wanted to see how everyone here was feeling about taking on a ton of debt for Yale -- no doubt you all have large scholarships elsewhere to consider as well. What are factors in your decision for or against taking on this debt? Yale is for sure my dream school, but I'm definitely a little nervous about the debt!

how set are people on going to yls? tbh getting into yale was a contingency i did not plan for. my best outcome for this cycle until yls accepted me would've been hls but im kind of thrown off now and wondering how i should go about weighing my options. i really would like to be in a pretty vibrant urban environment with more than just one major university and have access to a real social and potential dating scene. probably irrational factors in the big scheme of things...but i would love to talk to others who are weighing their options..

Just checking in! Definitely dealing with impostor syndrome, and appreciate that there’s some solidarity to be found in that.
