Nope Chicago has a quarter system. We have 2,2,4 over three quarters

I know people taking closed book exams at other schools -- like I know someone taking a closed book contracts exam. How in tf can someone memorize all that shit ?! that's crazy

They’re often easier to master if your professor’s not a huge dick and tells you the applicable universe. More black letter, less room for interpretive BS. Either MC or about maximal issue spotting.

Any interest in starting a 1L SA/diversity thread? Used to be a thing on TLS and seemed helpful

There's a Texas 1L SA thread going in the employment forums. Probably worth starting one for diversity positions, too, but not really my thread to OP.

Do we have anon posting yet? If not, I'd like to see it if possible for those type of threads

It already should be available in that forum — just post as guest.
More fully featured anon system is under development.

My contracts prof never taught us 2-207 (they expects us not to use it even when relevant) and cares extremely little about almost all BLL/case law. I heard classes were idiosyncratic, but damn I basically took a different course instead of contracts

I required two very strong drinks directly after my civ pro final. I am in the quarter system which means I have 3x the number of Finals Weeks over the course of law school.
I should probably get life insurance.

I love how in CivPro a statute can exactly copy Constitutional language but still not mean the same thing.

Contracts appears to have a massive spread in approaches. My prof wanted us not just to know the UCC and restatements, but also the CISG and UNIDROIT. Meanwhile, one of the small sections just used the restatements.

Yea, we covered all of that in class. However, our professor only required us to know the cases/concepts, and memorize one restatement. We got a copy of the UCC for the final and while he covered the CISG in class he told us we would not be tested on it since there's only so much he can expect us to remember for a closed book exam.
