Most of my apps have only really been big firm 1L diversity stuff with some PI and in-house stuff. Prob not getting a 1L big law gig bc of grades now that I have them so gonna try to fire away as many PI and judicial internship stuff as I can

I've got a few dozen applications in, some of which I need to update now that they got us our grades yesterday. This is probably the time to start, for most folks.

I hope you feel god about how you did in the fall, Stranger. (Or if not, I hope you feel optimistic about the spring.)

Wasted time applying to a fed internship only to realize that it might not be reviewed for a minute anyways. I really should keep up with current events more

I feel the opposite way I hope I can land an offer before I get exposed. If we could wait until like March to get grades I'd take it (if more firms were willing to hire without grades of course)

Fair enough! I think I’m more irritated because it’d be nice to have grades so I know if the study habits I developed last semester were effective before I’m 3 weeks into the spring semester.

I had an interview scheduled for what I thought was my dream summer job (fed gov) lined up for the 4th day of the shutdown. Now I'm thinking that I might end up having to accept another offer by the time I get that interview rescheduled. THE worst.

Or you could wait it out and chance it? I bet lots of folks will be in the same boat and it could work to your advantage.

Hi,

I was recently accepted to HLS, and I am pretty sure I'm going to commit. I was wondering if anyone had last year's Orientation schedule so I could see it? Just curious what orientation looks like there.

Thanks,

hlsadmit

Ugh. It happened. Offered another, still very good position. I think I'm going to see if they can wait for me to interview with the gov spot (assuming 🤞 that the shutdown ends in the next week or so).

I'd love to have this whole summer job thing worked out as soon as possible and just turn my focus to housing, etc.

I think you might do better asking this in an HLS-specific thread. I can't remember the schedule that well off the top of my head, but I think it tracks most other ASWs pretty closely. There was a tour, a goofy group activities, meals with faculty/1Ls, and a bunch of meetings for different affinity groups or interest areas.

But you'll get better responses in a Harvard-specific thread.

Same but with my writing sample.

Maybe if I missed it the first 5 times I read it the employer did too?

Before I started a bunch of 2/3Ls told me the social dynamic of law school is basically highschool 2.0. They weren't joking.

But what does that make us nontraditional students?
