Re: Penn vs. Northwestern ($$)

I'm not sure I'd give up $6k total Northwestern for anything other than something like T6 full ride. Not worth retaking just for a shot at that, IMO. One issue we all have to be aware of I think is that the people who hang around on this forum long term doling out legal advice self-select heavily i...

Re: GULC vs. Wash U

I’d take wustl out of these two options, but what are you gonna do if you don’t get biglaw or federal clerkship? I probably go for a midlaw job that is as close to a biglaw type salary as possible. Obviously there's risk, but I'm not in at one of those biglaw guaranteed schools so it's a risk I hav...

Re: Penn vs. Northwestern ($$)

... Could be looking at a T6 fully v. HYS thread in 11.5 months , and then you can get us REALLY riled up! Definitely agree. I mean, NU for $18k total (if your parents are paying all of your COL) is not a bad outcome by any stretch of the imagination, but the door to some even better ones is pretty...

Re: Penn vs. Northwestern ($$)

I wasn't really considering NYU just wanted to know if you thought it was worth it just for the rank. I wasn't really thinking of retaking at all...my practice tests were def north of 170, but the last test I took was sept 2016 (where reading comp screwed me over :( ) You're a younger student (whic...

Re: Penn vs. Northwestern ($$)

Hi guys, thanks for the input lol I did have another person tell me that I could survive the Chicago winters by padding my coat with the thousands of dollars I would save   What are y'all's opinion on paying sticker at NYU vs NW? Also don't do that. Someone funnier than me will come along...

One issue we all have to be aware of I think is that the people who hang around on this forum long term doling out legal advice self-select heavily into maintaining a law practice (not everyone I know). I interviewed people for admissions (and still do) who I can tell are closer to "well, it was eit...

Re: SLS or Chicago?

Yeah, I think even asking the OP to share UCLA's scholarship info is kind of ridiculous. This is UChicago for $128K we're talking about. That's a top-tier school that matches really well with OP's goals at a very reasonable price. Even if UCLA gave him full tuition, that'd still be $80K on COA. We'...

Everybody (on here) is going to say Northwestern because $$>>>>>> on LSL . I'm at Penn now and happy to answer any questions you may have while making your decision. The bolded is way too dismissive. No, I get it. And my post was supposed to be read as cheeky, FYI.

I don't know that you can delete a thread, so perhaps it could be merged with the other.

Didn't we settle on Irvine or retake in the last version of this thread? Yes,but now I have added Davis to the mix haha Then why you trying to sneak GULC past the goalie in this new reboot as part of the mix? Also, what Rowdy just said. We'll jump back in the old thread as required, though I suspec...

Re: Employment Statistics by School - C/O 2017 rolling out + C/O 2012-2016 data

So, to circle back to me shamelessly repping my school, and how the JD-MBA folks skew our BL + FC percentage a few points each year, here are the JD-only numbers: Northwestern - 72.3% (159/220) (+1.0% from 2016) BL: 63.6% (140) FC: 8.6% (19) There were 28 JD-MBAs out of a total class size of 248 (1...

Re: SLS or Chicago?

I think the "how much are they offering" in Dog's post indicates that they may have missed that is was only $90K from UCLA (which would put them in the UChicago COA just eyeballing). Probably wanted to make sure it wasn't a UCLA full ride that someone was giving up if their main goal was "work at a ...

Re: Georgetown ($$$) or Retake & Reapply?

I'm in the retake and reapply camp. I think the combination of a year of a little WE and applications submitted in Aug/Sep should net you better options even without an LSAT increase. But if you were below your PT average, don't be afraid to dive back in hard, hit mid-170s, and end up with a fantast...

Re: Pacific Northwest Law Schools

I'm a 1L at a PNW law school. I honestly think your best best is going to one of the local schools and finishing top third or better. I get asked about my ties to the area all the time, and I'm thankful I have deep ties and don't have to fake it. You'd be fine going to a T10 and doing well, but be ...
