Re: Litigation Boutique Associate - AMA

Thanks for doing this. I have a few questions: 1) Why did you personally pick boutique over big law? Any regrets, or are there factors that you wish you would have considered? 2) Can you talk about the exit opportunities coming out of a boutique? I'm hoping to work in TX long-term, but am worried a...

The east side. Not sure if the neighborhood had a name, but we were between airport and Springdale and between 7th and MLK, if that helps.

Not related to the above question but would appreciate ur response! How are people doing in terms of placing in ny/cali for b...

Re: Clerks Taking Questions

0L here. To what extent are clerkship prospects determined by prestige of the law school you attend? And is it more of a self-driven app process or is it really important to have a super competent career office behind you? The first question is going to be judge dependent. Some judges like to hire ...

Re: Univ of Texas School of Law students / grads taking questions

If money is no object. Money is definitely a consideration. Any other neighborhoods with rentals that are a bit cheaper? Rented a house on the east side for $1250 a month. Three bedrooms plus a huge yard for my dogs. That was in 2012-2015, so price may have gone up a bit , but it's definitely...

Same numbers and also kicking myself at how splitter friendly some of the higher-ranked T14s have gotten since my cycle.

Application question: If I'm interning for a federal judge and all of my work is with the clerks, would it be better to ask a clerk for a rec, or get one from the judge?
Many judges won't write rec letters, but will serve as a reference. Just FYI.

Biggest Challenge - Search Results

The biggest challenge we'll have is making sure the forum appears in google search results up near the top.

Building a Female Associate's Wardrobe

I'll edit the OP more this weekend, but this will be a place to talk about the wardrobe essentials you need to get through your first year of practice, swap suit and shoe recommendations, and ask for advice.

Might move this to the OCI/summer job thread if people think it'd be more helpful there.
