Re: Harvard Students and Grads Taking Questions

Hi! what tips would people recommend for preparing and studying routines during 1L year? How do people successfully prepare for grading and exam readiness? I'm really curious --- I've definitely heard that 1L year can be super rough for people coming in without a strong perspective about the law Fi...

Re: Harvard Students and Grads Taking Questions

Hi! I had a quick question about winter term -- are grades assigned the same way as they would be in Spring/Fall terms, or is there more of a credit / no credit system? Are winter term classes similar in rigor, especially for 1Ls? My 1L winter course was credit/no-credit, and I believe that is true...

Re: Harvard Students and Grads Taking Questions

When do you start to see movement on the waitlists? I'm a rising 2L ranked like #12 on the waitlist for a seminar I really want- is there hope? There’s not a ton of movement early in the summer, and then they pause until August. But once it picks up again, things tend to move a lot. #12 is a good p...

Hi there! an any current students tell me how they found off-campus housing and recommendations for where to look?
Ended up using craigslist, and that seems to be the way most do it. Another option is: https://www.harvardhousingoffcampus.com

Re: How to handle letters of recommendation as an older student?

Hi teez, LoRs of the academic variety are a really important part of your law school application. You do have some challenges here, but none of them insurmountable. I would encourage you to try to cultivate relationships with professors even with your limited facetime. Being able to get a strong rec...

Re: Class of 2021: It's so c0Ld in the D.

I got pulled into a LinkedIn rabbit hole today, and I found another person with my exact name who's a very bad law blogger and student at a TTT in my area. I fear my legal career may be over before it even begins.

Re: When do I visit a law school?

You should visit ASWs when you are accepted. Individual visits that early won't move the needle on your application, and depending when you do an individual visit, you may get less attention from adcomms because they will be busy at recruiting events or reading applications. Depending on the school,...

Re: Law School Success

No, there's not. The people who make decisions based on where they think they will land in the class are doing it wrong. Usually the thinking goes something like this: "I know most students as ABC Law School don't get good jobs, but people at the top of the class do. I'm smart so I'll likely be at t...

Re: ASU $$$ vs Emory $$

Hi there, if by "international law/human rights/NGOs/maybe government" you mean the more unicorn-y outcomes, then it's going to be a challenge landing those kinds of jobs from either of these schools. Also note that US gov jobs require US citizenship, so that may close a few doors. If those are the ...

Just told my boss I'm leaving. It's starting to get real... How'd he/she take the news? So supportive. I had been dreading this thinking it would bring out the worst in the higher-ups. But it was such a relief that it brought out their best. Well that's good to hear. It's scary to give such advance...

@Cog2k & I are at ASW and we want to meet the rest of the LSL. We have a code going around. It is, "Did you think the clam chowder needed more salt?" 😂😂
I'm down to meet up with some LSL people tomorrow! Getting a table at breakfast would be easy, yeah?
Is this the official plan now?

Sorry if this is a little off topic! Do you need your email address, information, etc. before you can apply for financial aid? :) I haven't gotten mine yet, and was trying to apply for aid last night.
Yes, you'll need it to setup your HarvardKey, which is what you'll need to apply for aid.
