Re: Los Angeles Market Associate Taking Questions -- OCI and BID LIST HELP

Anons in this thread, this seems to be a great and productive conversation, but I'm getting some weird duplication/possible glitches in anon approvals. If you requested something be approved and don't see it here, just shoot me a PM

1. yes to both 2. yes 3. stressful, but it's a great way to get your foot in the door 4. It's a zoo. Your interviews are in a giant hotel ballroom, so it's loud and fast. I'm not sure what kind of job you're looking for, but screeners are different for different positions. Bring lots of copies of ev...

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

A thought just occurred to me: Yale didn't get my updated transcript w/ fall grades until about mid-january, though I applied early december. does that mean my timeline may be off? Or am I desperately grasping at straws haha (I know it's the latter but a girl can dream) I didn't even send an update...

Oh sorry yes it's real, sorry I didn't check this thread, as I made a thread about it, but no one seemed interested min years experience is a suggestion one of my friends got that exact job with just over 1.5 and only one felony trial, don't pay much attention to their flyer, they don't have their ...

Re: Character & Fitness story & questions

I met someone at a bar, we began talking and exchanged phone numbers. Later that evening I was with friends in my house and one of my friends let this person and several other friends into my home, thinking I knew them. I didn't want to make big scene or anyone to get violent, so I did not immediat...

Re: Character & Fitness story & questions

The advice above is good, I don't really have anything constructive to add, so I will tell you a something I have told before, at least on the old site intended to put your mind at ease. I work across from an ADA who has committed not one, but two, violent assaults with weapons as an adult. He was c...

Re: I'm a Public Defender AMA

if i have pretty good criminal defense experience from law school (e.g. criminal defense pro bono all three years, a lot of clinics with substantive experience including the PD clinic, recs from my clinical instructors, etc etc) and then do biglaw for a few years, is it at all realistic to try to t...

Leela, thank you so much for that information. You are a beautiful angel literally sent from heaven. Question, and sorry if you already addressed this but I don't think so: Did you have to wait until 3L or shortly after graduation before you were able to lock down your current place of employment? ...

Thank you for this wealth of information, this is wonderful. It seems like a lot of work, which is no surprise. Do you find that work life balance is about as difficult as it is for those in biglaw? More difficult? Less difficult? You mentioned earlier that you were interested in being a public def...

My go-to for work shirts is Calvin Klein pleat-neck shells. They look great under a blazer or cardigan, and can be washed many times on cold cycle without showing any wear. They can be found for under $30 at Macy's, Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Amazon, etc. I also don't like that everything ...

happy to answer questions about getting the job Thanks for the response to my earlier question, and thanks for doing this in general. Could you walk us through a typical work day? I wrote thank you notes for almost every job/interview. It was commented on (positively) multiple times at my current job and a prior position. I think it depends on the size of the organization, but I would write them.
