From a practical, local standpoint, the Texas Appellate Law podcast is a good one. But it is both very practical and very local (a recent one was on getting supersedeas bonds in Texas).

2019 July Texas Bar Thread
Until Texas moves over to the UBE (Feb 2021), it's still doing its own thing. I'll try to build out this OP a little more later with additional resources, but here's a start. If anyone's looking for a circuit split case that could get them up to SCOTUS, be on the lookout for the next David Carradine/Michael Hutchence.

Re: Bug Report Thread
Not sure this is a site problem or my version of Chrome being weird, but on Chrome/Mac, when I right-click a link to a non-LSL website, I both have a new webpage pop up and the current page (i.e. the forum page where the link was) also redirects to the link. Then when I press back, I get whatever p...

Re: Guide for Transferring to Another Law School
I can't imagine that would be taken well, and they won't tell you anything anyway. GPA ranges generally (but not perfectly) follow quality of the school, so if your GPA is at 75%ile for a school's transfers, you're probably quite competitive, assuming your school isn't big on grade inflation. And yo...

I used to remember 3-4 mnemonics that I had to have written down -- for example in Property it was my privity chart, AN ECHO (for adverse possession) and a couple other things I don't remember now.

Re: Outcomes for people who have transferred
I transferred for personal reasons from T50 (~6%) to T20 and graduated in top 10% but outside top 6%. My outcomes were probably worse after transferring, but that may be more market based than anything. I stayed in a tight market where my graduating school is, whereas my 1L school was in a much larg...

Texas's mandatory reporting law for child abuse does not have an exception for clergy/confession. I'm not sure about for things like suicide.

Re: Tutoring?
Schools often have 1L tutoring programs, but they generally identify students (at the beginning of 1L by UGPA or LSAT; after first semester, by GPA) who would most benefit from it and I know at least one guy who was borderline for it and talked his way in. I know some folks who found it beneficial. ...

Re: Pre-writing exam answers
I pre-wrote the intros to some civ pro questions like personal jurisdiction, supplemental jurisdiction, and venue. It was very little in terms of my total answer, but I could start typing it from my printed outline while I thought a little more about the question. I started to do some for torts, but...

Re: Bar Exam Burnout?
I built a deck during the first six weeks of bar prep -- started out with about 4 hours a day of bar prep and worked on the deck in the afternoon. As I went through, less and less of my time was spent on the deck as I transitioned that time to bar study. And until the last couple weeks, I would use ...
