Aimee Stephens died ☹️
I was worried about how this could potentially sideline a decision, but that was cured today (still possible it's a bad decision on the merits...)

Re: how law school affects geographic location for afterwards

OK, that's more or less what I thought--it's the T14, basically, where the school itself offers national portability? This sort of gets into another area. I ended up applying at basically the end of the cycle--mid February and in a few cases later--which is why (I tell myself) I under-performed my ...

Some of you all do not post in the lounge so you wouldn't know this, but you shouldn't take 69% of what Johann says seriously.

Re: LRAP/IBR/PSLF. How does it work? Let's find out!

FYI all - the CARES Act (signed by the president on 3/27) makes some changes that affect PSLF. In sum, everyone with federal loans will automatically go on forebearance until Sept 30, 2020. All monthly payments that would have qualified during this period will still be counted for PSLF purposes. Thi...

Re: SCOTUS and Other Big Cases

The interesting question is whether the expiration date is constitutional. Article V authorizes and delineates how to amend the constitution and it's plain language doesn't grant Congress the authority to set a timeline on which 3/4 of the states must consent. That is pretty interesting and I have ...

Re: SCOTUS and Other Big Cases

https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1217514472333549568?s=19 It'll be interesting to watch this make it's way through the courts. The original bill that passed Congress had an expiration date on which 3/4 of the states had to consent. That deadline passed long ago. The interesting question is ...

OP move to dc and you'll not have to worry. Except for the occasional midwestern patent lawyer and employees at conservative organizations, almost everyone here is liberal
