Re: Please give me feedback on my personal statement

I think it's well written, and a great PS as well. I would change this bit: But it was not an easy journey. As the only Chinese American out of 111 candidates in my company, I had often been discounted by my peers. Many viewed me from the “model minority” stereotype, assuming that I primarily excell...

Re: Brazilian student applying for law school

I think what people are trying to ask is: what are your career goals? admission in the US is based almost entirely on grades and LSAT score. the bulk of the employment is only attainable through graduates of the 13-15 top programs in the Country, and the remaining 200+ law schools are not worth the ...

Yeah. GS11 is like $60-70k. $100k + bonus is a lot better.

Re: Do a large amount of plaintiff’s lawyers tend to be conservative?

in addition to what everyone else said: - there's not a whole lot separating lincoln-project republicans and centrist dems. pretty much the only difference is how religious they are. both are "fiscally conservative" - plaintiffs' lawyers need to build bigger client bases (bc a lot are one-offs) so t...

LSL is small enough that you can just post. i doubt that any adcoms are trawling us.

but yeah i'm free for pm as well. you'd just get more eyeballs from lurkers if you posted and deleted.

Re: SCOTUS and Other Big Cases

idk if striking down indentured servitude is much of a lib win. especially when, based on that excerpt, his reasoning seems to be on antitrust grounds instead of human dignity or whatever bullshit Kennedy would have authored. he's basically saying "it doesn't make sense to limit the ability to explo...

Re: Big Law to Government Procurement

I just don't think exiting to a JD-adjacent GS-11 gig after 9 months in BL makes sense, even if you hate your BL life. But absent more information, I can't say more than that it doesn't seem to be optimal.

Re: As you start Bar Prep -- Be sure to have other (non-study) things to do

Anywhere that's UBE, or weighs MBE 50% makes autopass mathematically possible. States that weigh MBE 40% technically don't make autopass possible.

Autopass target is to hit 80% but 70+% is actual autopass score bc of scaling, and really, 65% is autopass bc nobody gets 0's on their essays.

i think OP was legit, and probably won't come back but: - this issue is pretty specific and requires actual research - there probably isn't even an answer that can be articulated concisely, even wrt vaccines. - the question was poorly framed (partly bc of language barrier, partly bc it's a complex q...

Re: Baguette Applies to Law School

is Duke's COA really 270k after 45k of scholarship? that doesn't seem right. 170k maybe? 170k is still a lot though. i think sitting out and reapplying with a 180 in a non-covid year is tcr. WUSTL turning down a perfect score is really head scratchy and shows how underweighted the LSAT was for these...

i think it's worth a LOCI being assertive (not pushy) that you'd appreciate a decision sooner rather than later. a Yale/Stanford admission is worth considering imo.

Re: Should I buy a LSAT Strategy Guide?

It wouldn't hurt to get a prep book for the logic games so you can still those but otherwise, continuing to PT works too. It just would be a more effective use of your time to shore up your problem areas (to the extent one has problem areas with a 172) instead of devoting time to entire PTs
