Re: LSL Yale250 Bank

Undecided on whether to post mine, but just to add to the data points: I included a graphic, and the essay was a description based off of that graphic. The essay was about bias in data analysis. I was waitlisted (and withdrew), so I'm not sure what you can get out of that. It wasn't a hard "no," I s...

Waitlisted in the wave earlier today as well, taking myself off. What a relief! No way I want to feel like I did this week all summer. Thanks all.

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

The individual folks in the understaffed office, I do genuinely feel for them. But Yale isn't some barely-holding-it-together operation making the best out of a shoestring budget. The office is understaffed because Yale isn't staffing it enough.

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

if it makes people feel better (maybe it won't) admissions has been working crazy hard to get back you all - without a dean of admissions other people are taking this up on top of their existing full time job; they're like hardly sleeping so any delay is because they physically can't get to it any ...

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

Okay I think it makes sense that people are angsty and on edge in this chat given it’s April 26. Sorry if we sound ridiculous, but people who have been admitted should be a little more sympathetic of our frustration at this point when so many deadlines have passed us by and we were just told decisi...

You're right, we've got to let go of this negativity. Let me try. Fun fact: The butterflies are all dying and so are the bees.

Ah, shoot.

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

I think yield is just total matriculants divided by total acceptances. Acceptance rate is total acceptances divided by total applicants. Holding on to folks that ultimately they'll reject wouldn't do anything to boost those numbers. I think the snail pace is just disorder plus the low prioritization...

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

Taking all of my restraint to not call and ask what the heck is going on there. I've got to put down money tomorrow to claim a scholarship at my current top choice. I would just do it. I really don’t think there’s gonna be more non-WL acceptances at this point in the cycle, unfortunately. That's de...

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

I don't think I've seen any acceptances this week despite a few people saying that the Admissions Office claimed over the phone that there would be some. Grumble. I really don’t understand the lying. They’ve told several people that right? I doubt it's lying so much as wanting to keep their options...

If there are acceptances tomorrow, it's probably safe to assume it's on the order of a dozen or less, j...

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

Complete early January. Sorry. Don't try to make sense of it. Yale Law Admissions is a closed system, and as such, the law of entropy dictates that it shall approach total disorder as we near the end.

My gut is telling me there has to be more movement today.

I've been pending so long that I have a whole slew of new accomplishments that aren't on my application, hah. I find myself thinking about that more and more since everyone left at this point was probably an edge-case decision.

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

Anyone want to wildly speculate about when a ding wave(s)/a possible waitlist wave may come this week? Do we think they are giving out any more acceptances or are we all headed for ding/waitlist? I'm not hoping for anything at this point. I think 99% of us are headed for ding/waitlist. I'm gonna go...
