Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

What happens when someone sends an app after the school's mentioned deadline?
If there is a deadline, then why is it possible to send applications after the deadline has passed?
I have applied to a school past deadline and I am wondering if it was futile.

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Hi Spivey,

I was wondering what is the right length for a law school resume? (unless specified).
I am trying to understand if my goal is to provide a good amount of information that they cannot get elsewhere from my application or provide a bare minimum summary of my work and academic experience?

Re: International House of Applicants (IHOP)

Do any of you have any opinions on what particular schools are more international friendly wrt acceptance or financial aid? I've noticed on the website of George Washington Univ says this "The law school does not provide need-based tuition grants, tuition waivers, or graduate teaching assistantships...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Hi, Since international students do not get a number GPA but only a rating Superior, Above average etc. How do the admissions people perceive this information? I see people say international student cycles are unpredictable precisely due to this reason but how does the admissions office evaluate or...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Hi Spivey Team! https://blog.spiveyconsulting.com/its-early-youre-early-this-whole-damn-place-is-early/ Based on this blog post, would it be ok to apply with/ask schools to consider the Jan 27th LSAT score (which might be releasing mid February). My idea is to apply before the LSAT and request schoo...

Re: International House of Applicants (IHOP)

Is there a new thread for the current cycle somewhere? Don't think so... You can open it and post the data I/we gathered in the OP maybe, I think it's quite useful to know (even though, after this cycle I must say that the whole process for international students is quite unpredictable!) even thoug...

Re: International Student-F1 Visa, Employment, Employment Visa, etc.

What about post-OPT period? H1B sponsorship and so on? You'll hopefully have an employer sponsor you during OPT. Your best (only) route is a firm that you are already working for during OPT that is willing to sponsor you. Then you have to go through the H-1B lottery process, which I assume you're f...

Re: International Student-F1 Visa, Employment, Employment Visa, etc.

Hey mate, I know a few people in law schools on an F1 student visa. You can have internships via CPT (Curricular Practical Training). After you graduate from law school you're allowed to work in the US for a year via an OPT (Optional practical training). This right is given to every F1 student who ...

International Student-F1 Visa, Employment, Employment Visa, etc.

Hi, I've been trying to find information on this from people but so far I don't have anything conclusive or empirical. I am an International student (international GPA) and would need a US Student visa to go to law school. Are there usually students who are in law school classes that are on visas? A...

two of the RC questions I missed were type 1 inferences. I haven't review the exam yet i'm taking the day off. But tomorrow i'll be back at it! Thanks a lot for your recommendation it seems way more sustainable and a better use of the limited LSAT resources.. Might be a stupid question. But, WHAT I...

So, yesterday I took two timed sections of a PT (one LG and one LR). I could only finish more than half of the LG section but I could complete the LR alright. I did not BR them yet (I want to do that after I finish the whole test). Why am I so pathetically slow and how can I fix this? I am planning ...

Re: June 2018 Study Group

Thank you all for advice on LG foolproofing. I am still super slow and working on improving accuracy, but hopefully I'll get there soon. What I was worried about was if I invested a fortnight or so foolproofing and it felt more or less like rote practice as opposed to learning anything and I was sti...

Question about fool proofing : Do you keep doing the same game again and again in one sitting until you get all inferences right, questions right, and do it under the 7sage time? If anybody is doing the 7sage foolproof method i.e.? If so, wouldn't you have committed those inferences and maybe to mem...

Your softs sound strong to me! I think keep doing what you’re doing and kill the LSAT. You’ll then be in a great position! I’d also start working on your Personal statement and diversity statement earlier rather than later. Creating a strong one can take a long time and involve a lot of revisions. ...

I will be applying as an International Student from a third world country. I am a STEM major with 2 years of work experience in the STEM field. ...
