Re: LEGAL SALARY DATAPOINTS

Yeah that's just not true dude. But there's not much point to posting it because the biglaw firm salaries are well known and publicly documented already, easily found online.

Re: Cold Emailing Issue

It doesn't have to be a list, it's as simple as the offended partner emailing HR or the hiring partner and saying "don't hire this person". It can and does happen.

Re: Should I delay law school for 2 years for a pension?

That's nothing to sneeze at, I would strongly consider staying at your current job for another two years. Delaying law school for two years won't really hurt you in terms of lost opportunities so seems like a low risk high reward proposition.

Re: Federal Security Clearance Timeline

Yeah to give another anecdote, I did an SF 86 as well with minimal disclosures other than recreational drug use in college (>3 years prior to applying) and it took about 9 months to get the full clearance. Interim was approved within a month. Also BU is right, you can ignore what I said above as far...

Re: Federal Security Clearance Timeline

To receive your interim clearance or to receive full clearance? It's different for everyone depending on what's in your SF85. Interim could take a few weeks, full could take months or even a year. Also depends on what level you're going for, obviously a secret will be faster than a top secret becaus...

Re: Student Loans: Payment Options and Numbers

Starting a. New job in the fall. Going to be jobless for like two months. Have 140k in loans. Should I take the max salary advance (20ish K) to pay down loans quicker? I could live and travel off of like 8 and then throw 10k on the loans automatically. Is there any downside to that? If it helps the...

Re: Student Loans: Payment Options and Numbers

Ahem FRB* could get you down to under 3% but not if you don't live in the right area.

Realistically you'd be looking at like 4.5-5% with the other banks (Darien Rowayton, SoFi, etc.) so up to you whether that's worth it or not for losing the protections of federal student loans.
