If that is your response to this, then it would be a character and fitness violation to stay part of this "non-profit" any longer. Please delete my account. I attempted to find the option to do so, but your forum does not appear to have one on the users end.

You are ok with racists and homophobic posts with border line sexual assault speech in them but not this? What is wrong with you?

I see that you offer other services too. Not sure if others noticed those too, but I'll check it out. Interesting looking stuff.

Re: Careers in legal aid

Isn't legal aid PSLF eligible? I'd be debt seeking if I was legal aid or bust. You consider a NON Lawyer position in the military? If you go E-4 for a few years, that debt is normally pretty much gone like magic. You young/healthy/crazy enough? There are lots of MOS other than JAG. DISCLAIMER: I am...

BK on student debt

Hopefully more applicable to clients than yourself directly, but still interesting. I am surprised that IBR wasn't just applied if disabled but good for her all the same. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/student- ... 21849.html

Re: Strong MBE = AUTO bar pass

Or at least almost definitely a bar pass. Note, this is only true for states that don't have a minimum score for written parts, and only true for states with a 50% MBE. 40% or lower, MBE is still huge but it's harder to pass by just MBE. Lets take Illinois for example. You need 264 points to pass a...

Re: Strong MBE = AUTO bar pass

Even for states without Auto pass it helps since I found the essays to largely be passable if you regurgitate explanatory answers from mbe prep from quality study guides that explain WHY each wrong one was almost right but wrong and why. That compare and contrast I found is enough to pass most of it...

Re: Marino Retaker Course

Quality flash cards are HUGE help. I used critical pass myself . For me having physical copies to hold in my hands mattered. I didn't even realize that was an issue for me until the bar exam. It also helped to do the audio lectures on double speed while nature walking. Every brain works its own way ...

"Zero Experience Preferred" local counsel jobs (IMHO)

I've seen a lot of these posted on craigslist mostly over the years. Lots are "credit consolidation" firms and stuff like that who need a local lawyer to make it (at least appear) legal. They pay next to nothing and prep the paperwork and promise to send an appearance attorney if you need it but str...

Re: Law School w/o intent of being a FT lawyer?

Tax law and possibly Patent Law (if a STEM undergrad) might interest you. Many are remote and flat rate work. There are also firms that help people incorporate and other out if court contracts type paperwork stuff. You also may want to look into JD that are part time and weekend options too.

Re: Prosecutor and judicial law clerk at same time

I looked up his Avvo. "Discharge in lieu of discipline". A rather sweet deal. Kind of like that jail warden who literally killed 9 inmates by neglect and got yelled at real mean by a Judge and 9 months in jail. . One month for each life. Totally equal to what the average Joe would get for 9 bodies I...

Re: Prosecutor and judicial law clerk at same time

This took from 2003 to see light. Most just never do. Good to see that the Defendant didn't literally due due to it though. The words "harmless error" are almost certain to come up at the retrial if they retrial, but it's looking like they might chose not to do so. (Edited to reflect new thoughts af...

Is Document Review the practice of law?

I've heard that question debated before . Seems equate to "is a virus alive". Short answer to both, if you are near it long enough you will be too unhappy to care. Anyone here doing that lately ? The remote options seem maybe ok. Consilio is always advertising for it I've noticed. I see a lot of pro...

Re: Greetings

I had a terrible 2.x undergrad GPA and 145 LSAT score and spent a couple of years at TJSL when they were ABA accredited before they academically dismissed me because my gpa had to be .04 higher. That ended 2015. Since then I retook and got a 149 and have 21 credits towards an M.S. in Criminal Justi...

Re: Greetings

There are arguably more careers where a JD is a downside (overqualified, etc.) than where it's useful, let alone required. And good luck just "leaving it off" the resume too. Between "the work number" and people just googling you to see the full first page filled with Avvo and knock-off versions of...

Re: PSA: Do Not Pay Full Price for a Bar Course (NEGOTIATE!)

I’d be surprised if there isn’t restriction allowing sign-on from only one device at a time. Also you’d only get one copy of the physical course material and there’s a lot of features that are built with one user in mind, e.g. progress tracker, question banks, those kinds of things. I mean theoreti...
