don't be afraid to be pretty blunt about what you're writing. and def submit the 2nd round of scholly reconsideration too. They really just want to be sure you're putting the effort in so that you're actually interested in coming here. Also, HMU with any questions - Current Student. Finally accepte...

Re: WUSTL (full ride) vs T14 (at sticker) for Public Interest
Worth noting - If you wanna be in NYC/DC, WUSTL might not have the reach you're looking for. All schools are regional to an extent so landing the east coast from the midwest should be an important consideration.

Don't hesitate on sending continued interest emails/resume updates occasionally too. especially if you're a candidate who might be on the cusp.

Re: New Jersey Schools?
It would widen the opportunities for you in some sense, but would require you to undertake a lot of networking on your own behalf as the school/alumni network wont be as useful in those areas. Additionally, the regions outside of NJ will probably be confused as to why you went to NJ in the first pla...

Re: New Jersey Schools?
could you elaborate on the type of clerkships you're looking for?
Additionally, regional schools mostly place within their immediate area. Not being from new jersey, would you want to spend the rest of your life in New Jersey?

Re: UT Austin v NU Big Law
I'm not from Texas, no. but the reason that I asked about these schools specifically is because I'm deciding between both of their early decision options. Geography is not as much of a concern to me (if at all) in comparison to salary/chances of big law. We can probably just stop replying because h...

Re: UT Austin v NU Big Law
Op - if you want biglaw, NU is pretty reasonable at that price point. If you want texas, I can tell you that pretty much everyone at NU that expressed serious interest in getting Texas, got Texas.

Re: UT Austin v NU Big Law
Hydro, if you want to factor self selection into the matter, then also factor in that 10% of NU class is JBMBA and therefore may not even pursue a a JD job. Additionally, it isn't exactly helpful to call out Zuck for unsubstantiated claims when the best you're providing seems to be vague and ancedot...

Re: Northwestern 1L/2L/3L/Grads Taking Questions
NU just sent out an email about 2 (free) summer programs in August: Northwestern Law’s Summer Law Preparatory Program and 2018 JumpStart Preview and Preparation Program. Did anyone do either of these? Any thoughts? I'm leaning towards not, but also have FOMO. didn't do them, can't think of anyone i...

Re: Chances, Hardship Info, Atypical Major
Shoot for a high lsat (+170), write and addenda/personal statement highlighting it if you can, and try to keep your GPA as high as possible. I managed to snag a decent t14 scholly with a low 170s/3.2x combo so it can certainly done. Work experience is always a good idea and everyone on this board wi...
