In addition to the above, i keep a moleskin and write down tasks as i go. No specific order just as they come in, I’ll jot down dates they may be due. But it’s a decent way of keeping all tasks in front of me.
I would 100% forget a task if not written down in this book

What year are you? Two friends did this in the last few months. Not impossible.help me wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 10:38 pmI'd be open to start over as a first year, but this move seems pretty impossible. Has anyone here ever seen it done?

Re: Corporate lateraling up
I'm starting this fall at a firm in one of LA/SF/DC/BOS. Its a more midsize firm that pays market (not vault 100 but it shows up on their mid-size rankings). I had V10 offers during OCI, but chose this firm because it seemed unique and like a place i could stay for a while, and it was hard to get g...

Re: So you think you want BigLaw?
What happens when you get sick while working on a big deal as a corporate associate? Do you get to take sick leave and come back and work to death, or are you expected to keep working? IME, you buy some dayquil and keep working. I once told a partner that another associate headed home because they ...

Re: How does one actually make partner?
Ive never seen a partner be made in biglaw without a book of business. Smallest book I’ve seen was about a $1M/yr with the hopes they’d be betting on them at the ground floor before they blew up. Have seen plenty of people with $1M/year books get turned down for partnership as well. I've heard that...

Re: So you think you want BigLaw?
Super random, but does anyone know of any colleagues exiting into the FBI after a few years of big law? I've read that lawyers have considerable advantage when applying for the FBI, but never see it mentioned as an exit option on law forums. Heard other way around as well. But they were fbi JD to b...

Totally buy it, and I'm not coming at it with legal experience, but I've had those hours before and cooking has always been my priority. It's an odd personality quirk, but it's certainly a core one. The question is more trying to gauge how much people who have the gig spend on groceries vs. eating ...

Is the government agency in the market you want to network? The biggest thing you'll want 1L summer to accomplish is to network at various firm events (this is assuming you want biglaw in the market, so ignore my advice if that's not the case) and hopefully lock down early interviews. Early intervi...

I know our office is currently looking for a lateral to expand a group that needs bodies.
At least the current idea is that we are just going to poach a nearby firm that has those kinds of attorneys now.
