Re: Berkeley vs UCLA vs USC vs UCI

67.5k at Irvine. I'd like to end up in litigation in either a big law office or boutique. I would also like to maximize clerkship opportunities.

Re: Berkeley vs UCLA vs USC vs UCI

I have been accepted to all 4, but waiting to hear about $$ from all but Irvine. I guess my question boils down to how much, if at all, is Berkeley better for CA biglaw? I'm not super debt averse, but want to balance the risk with going to a school that provides consistent employment outcomes that c...

Berkeley vs UCLA vs USC vs UCI

Is there a consensus for how much these schools should be valued relative to each other e.g. a Berkeley degree is worth 50k more than a UCLA degree? For comparison's sake, let's say we are talking about CA biglaw as the ultimate goal.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2022 Applicants

I interviewed back in September and have heard nothing since the follow up email, so maybe?

Re: WUSTL c/o 2022 Applicants

If I interviewed back at the end of September and haven't heard back, am I likely out of the running? I thought the interview went well and with a 168 LSAT and decent GPA I thought I had a solid chance...

Re: Irvine c/o 2022 Applicants

I submitted a while ago and have yet to get even a confirmation they received my materials. Is that normal?

Re: THE Sacred LSL Admissions Decision Ashram

As a result of this thread I will dust off the books (fortunately they aren't that dusty) and get going planning on retaking in September. Thank you for the last post, that's what pushed me over the edge. As I've told a number of friends, in some ways a 168 was a rough score because any lower and re...

Re: THE Sacred LSL Admissions Decision Ashram

Thank you for the perspective. Regardless of what happens, that possibility definitely has me thinking long and hard about taking out loans at a place like UCLA or USC just to get a chance at biglaw. Unfortunately, the drop off seems pretty quick after Irvine for SoCal schools so I don't know if I'l...

Re: THE Sacred LSL Admissions Decision Ashram

Good to know. I was hoping to hear that because my GPA is far more competitive there. Biglaw isn't a necessity, in fact I don't think I would enjoy most of it, but I am attracted to the financial stability. One of the primary reasons I am looking at a new career is I want to make enough to comfortab...

Re: THE Sacred LSL Admissions Decision Ashram

Got it, thank you. Still struggling with the decision to retake or not, but the advice to apply to a few more schools is definitely helpful (as of right now I am saying no, but am constantly going back and forth). Any thoughts on UC Irvine for setting somebody up with a solid career in law (even if ...

Re: THE Sacred LSL Admissions Decision Ashram

Thank you for the reply! As I said, anything serviceable by a non-biglaw salary would be fine with me; I would be uncomfortable taking out so much that I could only hope to pay it off with a job I'm not guaranteed, so around 100k is doable, but 300k isn't. There is also a chance I get some amount of...

Re: THE Sacred LSL Admissions Decision Ashram

LSAC GPA: 3.6 (strong upward trend) LSAT: 168 (2nd take) Going on my third year of full time employment with a salary of about 50k (have a Master’s in my field). I also worked part time throughout college. I am debt averse (who isn’t), but would be willing to take on a reasonable amount of debt that...
