Re: Splitter with decent softs 3.45/172

PM me - I think with the UChi brand name it's fairly doable if you get the right people writing your letters of rec. My GPA was fairly low and I ended up okay

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

I totally get the frustration! I have been there - this is actually my second application cycle. I also know how much it was like, making me deeply unhappy in a way that even after I didn't get into any school I liked enough the first cycle to deposit, it still felt deeply exhausting, and I wish I ...

Re: Yale Waitlist (Class of 2021)

Hi all, Any update on FB group numbers? Thanks! 246 but too lazy to do the breakdown (my estimate is 220 admits or thereabouts?) 13 admins, so we're at 233 Curious: does that count the current 1Ls on the page? Excellent point! I don't think it does - there are at least 2 1Ls who are just general me...

Just curious: are pets allowed? I come with a cat, and will adopt a corgi once I'm there.
not in any university-affiliated housing, but finding pet friendly hasn't been too much of a nightmare

A couple folks were added to the group in the past 2-3 days. Dunno if it's WL pulls or just recently found facebooks, but FYI.

Here is mine! Accepted! It’s an accident of birth that I’m American, that my experience of the Algerian civil war was a matter of months, not years, that I only crouched below windows to dodge bullets a few times, that I was never pushed face-down into a muddy ditch by a soldier on my way to school....

Did anyone who mailed in their commitment form receive confirmation afterwards? And if so, how long did it take?

Re: Yale C/O 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)

Y'all, it is literally just because Y goes through a lot of rounds for their applicants, professors are slow, and they are highly ranked enough that they can delay. It's not a conspiracy to keep up yield, they don't need one, and other schools *still* haven't gotten all their answers out yet. I know...

If you don't like your options this year, retake and apply next year - but there's not much grounding to believe that the "trump bump" or whatever is going to make a large difference.

H AND S DID NOT ACCEPT ME.

NO SCHOOL HAS GIVEN ME EVEN A HALF RIDE. NYU IS GIVING ME UNDER 20K/YEAR.

THIS WAS NOT IN THE REALM OF DREAMS FOR ME.

Re: Harvard Law Waitlist

Do you think they actually read our LOCIs when making their decision of who to offer a JS1 off the waitlist? Following. Long shot, but anyone who got off the WL in past years without sky-high stats feel that it was their LOCI that tipped the scale in their favor? It may not... but not writing a LOC...
