Thanks for the update, it's a helpful data point in a world where we have no data on GRE applicants. Let us know which schools you get into/scholarships if you can, that'd be awesome.

^ which school did you go to? how much preftige factor in career say hys vs ccn? This will blow 0L's minds but even non-T14 grads (not that DF is a non-T14 grads) make 400k/year once they reach the same level of seniority. Harvard senior associates don't get paid more than Vanderbilt senior associa...

Dude, you're like a guy who's whining that he would have gotten laid if only he had an Audi A5 instead of an A4. Yeah, the A5 is slightly nicer but maybe the car is not the reason you're not getting laid. Best analogy ITT. YS and H should not be lumped together when discussing outcomes and value pr...

Re: Dropping Out and Reapplying
There aren't many (any?) fed clerkship positions you can get from Harvard median that you can't get from CCN median. Maybe the H name goes further in District of Iowa or something? Although I wouldn't be surprised if the Chicago median guy has an edge over H in District of Iowa. I think it's Chicago...

Since this point hasn't been addressed, if by "top 14 law schools for intellectual property" you mean: https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-law-schools/intellectual-property-law-rankings Those rankings are meaningless. The only ranking that matters--unfortunately--is the standard one her...

I talk politics with people +/- (currently only +) 2 class years. Haven't had unsolicited politics talked forced upon me by a more senior att'y yet, but in the event it happens, I'm prob just gonna smile and nod. I can't imagine any of the senior attorneys being backwards enough to whine about gende...

S&C if they think it's an opportunity to prestige grab, Skadden if it wants to get back at all the "Not a real V5"ers, maybe Debevoise to boost its Vault ranking after seeing Milbank jump like 15 spots?

Re: Government to a boutique litigation firm in CA?
FWIW state trial practice is quite different from practice in federal courts, as I'm sure you're aware, so your trial work experience isn't going to pull as much weight as you think, especially at boutiques that are 95% former fed clerks.

Re: 2019 Summer Bonus Discussion
This is a post from an anon user on TLS. I wish we had this caliber of NYCto200 posting on LSL tbh. I just got drinks with a Milbank bankruptcy senior recently. He seems plugged-in and isn't inclined to bullshit but also obviously doesn't have any power whatsoever on this. Per him, Milbank thought t...

How is this TTT firm even prestigious? They pay below market, they're not even relatively selective, and it sounds like they're filled with crazy.
Is it just because they throw tons of money at fed soc SCOTUS clerks?

duke/Chicago at sticker are no-go when you have 25k/year at NYU or UVA. If you want corp/IP, do NYU.
If you have 25k everywhere, I'd say Chicago only because of lower CoL = lower debt.

It's not impossible, but fortunately for you, you don't even really need to think about this until after your first year of law school. You really don't need to think about electives until you're picking them at the end of your first year of law school. Try to get as high a GPA/LSAT as possible. Tha...
