Re: Is there time to pursue hobbies in law school (and as a lawyer)?
It's all about how you budget your time. If you would have asked me this question in September I would have probably said no, but as my first semester went on I learned how to allocate my time more efficiently.

Re: Is there time to pursue hobbies in law school (and as a lawyer)?
I played club hockey all three years in law school, which involved traveling to Evanston from downtown Chicago twice a week. Your schedule gets more full towards exams but during the regular part of term you have a fair amount of flexible time. Especially if you're willing to give up some of the so...

Re: Class of 2021: we're basically 1.5Ls now
The whole job application process is much more stressful than I had anticipated.
So many cover letters to write, so little time!

Re: Class of 2021: It's so c0Ld in the D.
My contracts prof never taught us 2-207 (they expects us not to use it even when relevant) and cares extremely little about almost all BLL/case law. I heard classes were idiosyncratic, but damn I basically took a different course instead of contracts This sounds a lot like my torts class because we...

Re: LSAT Prep Books
Thank you for the link! I am working full-time but I am studying 1 to 2 hours Monday through Friday and at least 4 hours on Fri, Sat and Sun. I want to take the January 2019 LSATs in order to apply before Georgetown's application deadline. I had a pretty similar study schedule and took 8 months to ...

Re: Class of 2021: It's so c0Ld in the D.
How do you guys keep time on the exam? Can you not see the clock on your laptop while taking the exam? The software we use lets you see the clock, so I just use that then divide my time based on the point values for each question. Also, the software we use lets you set timers but aint nobody got ti...

Re: Class of 2021: It's so c0Ld in the D.
Going back through old notes for outlining purposes and under one of my briefs, with absolutely no context, I wrote "It is rare to see a plaintiff sue a defendant."

Re: Depressed
The LSAT/application process is seriously depressing. I had a really hard time getting through it so I know how you feel. The waiting part is full of nervous anticipation. The acceptance/deciding where to go part was, for me, one of the most exciting and uplifting times of my life. Law school itself...

Re: Class of 2021: It's so c0Ld in the D.
Both our memos this semester are graded but the first/closed one is worth less and the components/assignments we turn in for feedback as we’re working on them are ungraded which is nice because my prof ripped me apart on all of them This sounds pretty similar to what I have as well. My first one wa...

Re: Class of 2021: It's so c0Ld in the D.
Submitted my first memo last week and I've just started working on #2. Why must they take up so much time???
Also, my first memo was not for an actual grade which I thought was kinda strange. Is that pretty common or is everyone being graded on everything they turn in?

For those of you that do not brief cases, what do you do to prepare for class? Everything is starting to heat up and in the near future Im sure that I will not have time to start exam prep and continue class prep how I have been. Also, Ive been thinking about gettin a Quimbee account. Anyone have an...

As someone that is a huge fan of 7Sage, I agree with what has been said above. RC is the hardest section to improve on and 7Sage does not offer a magic solution. If you're looking for LG and LR improvement then I would definitely recommend 7Sage.

Re: Class of 2021: It's so c0Ld in the D.
Our first draft of the closed memo is due a week from today. Just finished my outline. BTW I've already stopped briefing cases. Now I just read them, find the rule and reference the westlaw headnotes before class. I was sinking so much time into briefing and I would go into class and find that my p...

I just don't see the point? In my experience so far, everyone is very much prepared for class as it is so why add the pressure of a grade?

Soooo Westlaw or LexisNexis? I prefer Westlaw but those points are a really tempting reason to use Lexis tbh just search for something random everyday and you'll get points that will add up! The little "quizzes" they send via email rack up the points quickly and are actually pretty helpful. Im up t...

For those that don't brief, what do you do? Theres no way I could just remember the details of every case well enough to make it though a cold call so Im assuming you guys just take basic notes? Im not a huge fan of briefing so I would like to hear what others do.
