Re: WFH in biglaw post COVID?

For what it's worth, my firm "opened" a full on virtual office and is letting people "move" to that if it's mutually agreeable. Seems like the small number of applicants have gotten it and they are hiring from outside the firm as well. Can't be the only firm doing this Just curious (and I hate the ...

You probably want to do essays, not MPRE multiple-choice questions. Why do I need To do essays? I went to hys, I know how to write essays Hey, genuine...

Re: Tax Talk

Has anyone here thought about the future of the profession.... mainly the future of tax groups inside law firms vs Big Four? Inhouse tax seems like a great option, but if someone wants to stay at a firm, what can they expect? I'd like to point out that it's more than a binary of in house or firm/bi...

Re: Criminal Defense

Are you on any kind of court appointed counsel list so you could rep defendants that the public defenders office has a conflict with? I know a couple criminal defense solos who get steady work from that. The pay rates are low, but it is steady work they appreciate. That's what I'm currently doing. ...

Re: July 2018 California Bar Exam

Anyone care to tell me how the grading will be scaled if you're just taking the Attorney's Exam? I'm confused as to how these x/100 get to a scaled score and what I need to do in terms of points to pass. Not that it really matters to my studying. The extremely low pass rate on the Attorney's Exam b...

Re: July 2018 California Bar Exam

Anyone know where to get a lot of mixed set MBE questions? I have a good 350 in my Barbri book, and that's fine. But I'm gonna run out relatively quick at doing just 25 day (two weeks worth). I have several Emmanuel books, but they're not mixed. I suppose I could book mark each section and then fli...

Still thinking about desert fox’s thread. Do we have any idea how many MBE questions we would need to auto pass? https://one-timers.com/one-timers-bar-exam-calculator/ Just using this as a calculator, if you get 168/200 on the MBE, you can get 40s on everything else and pass 158/200 if you want to ...

Smokey - everytime I talk about MTO’s corporate practice with my NYC colleagues I hear that they’ve had more than a normal amount of recent departures and that there are “problems” in that group. Got any insight on this? What gives?
