Re: Harvard c/o 2022 Applicants

I'm rooting for y'all today! A piece of advice - stay busy if at all possible. I was in a Wednesday wave after a long weekend and happened to have off work on Tuesday and bumming around my house waiting for the phone to ring was one of the most stressful days of my life. The next day, when I had wor...

Re: Harvard c/o 2022 Applicants

Anyone know what time of the day that waves normally start? Unfortunately, it varies quite a bit, though I believe it's always started during typical business hours. Personally, I think it's coming this week but I'm not sold on it coming today. My fingers are crossed for y'all though! Any particula...

Re: Harvard c/o 2022 Applicants

I am 95% sure there will be a wave in the next week because they unlocked the admitted students' portal and it's almost totally set up - it hasn't been available to me as a deferral til this week, and I've been checking because I was worried Admit Weekend would line up with a vacation I have schedu...

Hi! I am not a NU student but was in the first wave last year and it was mid/late-December (I think the 18th). I believe ED found out around the same time.

I don't think so because this isn't a sanction - there was no disciplinary action taken. Will defer to others, though!

Re: Harvard c/o 2022 Applicants

^ I think she means those who had JS1's who are not going to be selected in the December wave. Thank you! I'm pretty sure that deferral refers to admitted students who have chosen to push back starting 1L. Since that means they would start with future classes, I'd imagine that HLS would have to fin...

Re: Harvard c/o 2022 Applicants

did you guys speak in a professional manner in your interviews or was it more on a personal friendly level? This is based on last year, but the only interviews I had that I found to be less professional and more casual were UVA and Northwestern (which I did in person with an alum, so I assume varie...

Re: Harvard c/o 2022 Applicants

Friends who have had JS1s, were the questions pretty much what you would expect? Any curve balls? Last year, they asked me what I'd look for in other applicants if I were on the admissions committee, which threw me though it may not be a true curveball! I think there's a LOT of types of questions t...

Re: LOR Writer Submitted Rec Without Showing Me First..Should I Request To See It?

I think if you asked your writer to take that angle, he did not offer to show it to you, and you trust him, you should not. I asked for my LOR writers to focus on specific things and all of them said they would but did not offer to show them to me. I would've felt VERY uncomfortable asking and ended...

Re: Harvard c/o 2022 Applicants

General wisdom says yes, they do! That said, just like all probability, your individual results may vary - there are people in the first wave every year who don't end up getting in and people (like me!) who wait 5 months for a JS1 and then get in two weeks later. All you can do is try to nail the in...

Re: Harvard c/o 2022 Applicants

Just FYI the December JS2 wave is historically tiny and lots of people who had JS1s in November/December do not hear back from them until January! I figure it's better to say this now than after the first wave of JS2s lol

So when do we expect the next wave of JS1's? Do we hear via email?
You'll hear via email! If trends continue, they'll release interview invites weekly-ish with breaks for holidays and sometimes breaks the weeks they do acceptances.

JS1 on 10/19! Pleasantly surprised, since I'm above 75% for LSAT but below median for GPA. There's no correlation between JS1 date and JS2 turnaround, though, right?
There's definitely correlation but it's not at all a guarantee

Hi All,

Quick Q. I'm above median at a HYS with a Harvard Undergrad. But my class rank is only like 80th Percentile. Does that count against me?
It does not, they mostly care about GPA as a ranking metric and a sign that you are academically capable, so class rank doesn't factor in.
