Personal Statement Writing Support Group on Discord/Slack?
Hi all! I've been brainstorming for my new personal statement, but I wish I could just casually spitball some ideas with people. Here and on Reddit, I feel like I need to be ready with a fully-fleshed out idea/PS but mostly I'd just like to talk about what I have in mind/find a mutual support group....

Re: LSL c/o 2022 Applicants
Checking in as a reapplicant! :) Applying to the T13, WashU, and Vandy. My goal is to apply as early as possible while still getting several good rounds of edits with multiple people on my materials since I think the timing of my apps last cycle were what got me. Hoping for better results with a str...

Re: LSL Yale250 Bank
Rejected It can be easy to mistake positive economics for a science without values. Its language is mathematics and a formula does not declare if the phenomena it describes is good or bad. However, there is a difference between describing rates of spending or economic growth and attempting to quanti...

Re: GULC Waitlist (Class of 2021)
Hoping this information might be useful to some of you. Last year, I was placed in the special group within the preferred WL. I sent one LOCI after the touching base email from Dean Cornblatt (4/24) and received a feeler email on 5/9 asking me to set up a call. Thanks for sharing this information! ...

Re: Stanford C/O 2021 Applicants
DLS, not calling to see what it is because I like a little mystery and spice in my life. Thought it would feel sad, but I'm honestly just relieved this nightmare cycle is one step closer to being finished Same. After obsessively checking the status checker, I'm oddly zen about not knowing which let...

Re: Stanford C/O 2021 Applicants
Almost had a heart attack when I got a call from a number with a 650 area code and they couldn’t hear me because reception is awful in my office.
It wasn’t Stanford. Just Brooks Brothers, no idea why since I've never shopped at a Brooks Brothers before.

Re: What to expect when you're expecting 2018
For UCLA, I didn't receive a call, only an email letting me know that I had been accepted (there's supposed to be a physical letter arriving, but I haven't received it yet).

Re: Duke C/O 2021
Just received my scholarship offer so it's looking increasingly likely that I'll be at Duke in the fall unless a miracle occurs regarding my outstanding apps. If someone who's visited could PM me with their thoughts, I would really appreciate it!

Re: University of Chicago Waitlist
Got my waitlist notification while I was at an office party so I drowned my disappointment in food.
Chicago is a reach for me, so I'm definitely going to be riding this one out.

Re: UCLAyyyyyye - Class of 2021
:o Congratulations! When did you go complete and did you only receive an email (no call)? Thanks! I went complete 2/6 and no phone call. None of the emails were a formal letter of admission, but the first of the three emails did say that I should expect to receive my official admission in the mail ...

Re: Cornell C/O 2021
So I've been chilling with "Ready for Review" since 1/25. Am I even going to get an interview request at this point? Are they still sending those out? I feel like I got fleeced out of an application fee. Not sure if you've received an request since you posted, but I was in a similar boat and just r...

Re: USC Gould C/O 2021
Just got in. Submitted mid January. Complete the day after. Congrats! :D Has anyone heard about pubic interest scholarship? I haven't, but I'm assuming that I didn't get it since I've already received my scholarship letter. I would be thrilled if my assumption is incorrect, but I'm trying not to ge...
