Re: Weighing Scholarship vs ranking

OP, there are people with full rides at my school who are at the bottom of the class and vice versa. If you're taking 3 years of your life you should probably ask what happens if you're in the bottom third or worse at any of these schools and if you're okay with that outcome

Re: Cornell ($) v USC ($$$) for Entertainment Law

*work visa required* I am not an expert but this is the only thing that would make me lean more into Cornell. I don't know how hard it is to get a work visa outside of big law, someone else will have to chime in. If it's pretty much "big law or leave the country" Cornell is a MUCH more risk averse o...

Re: Rowdy's Guide to the LSAT

Great advice, Rowdy. What process would you recommend for the questions that you cannot get to in 35 minutes. Say I am doing an LR section and I can't get to the last 2-3 questions in the time allotted. Should I continue on to those questions and make note of the additional time it took me to finis...

Re: Lewis & Clark Applicants (c/o 2022)

I'm not here to shit on Oregon law schools but it's a tough, tough market and there are half as many jobs for new grads as there are new grads every year. The state would be better off if one of those schools closed.

Re: Lewis & Clark Applicants (c/o 2022)

I interviewed on Feb. 6th and got an email today that I’m on the waitlist. Does anyone know the chance of possibly being admitted before the fall semester? I would appreciate any advice! This is not the advice you asked for, but I'd be really hesitant to pay full price for L&C, which is what you'll...

Re: What would you pay for Harvard? Should I even be considering it?

Once you’re at the firm, your quality and body of work is essential ― Harvard or not. Annually, when the partnership committee confers to review the candidates and makes it’s selections, being a Harvard grad is a big plus. If you can’t get your head around that, check out Stranger’s easy-to-underst...

Dusty taking a long time to realize this is a losing and stupid battle. It is a big-time losing battle...for you! Harvard 31. UVA 0. To be fair, according to the updated partnership results…..Harvard 31 UVA 6 As I posted earlier, best to consider the long-range partnership advantages of Harvard. Th...

Re: 2019 USNWR T25 Prediction Contest (ANNOUNCING WINNERS TOMORROW)

I'll repeat hog's question, but tag North. Are we doing this again? North didn't want to run it again, and I think I volunteered to host but I'm not sure how to do the numbers Ah, that makes sense. If Robb is willing to provide the software support he did last year, the numbers do themselves. If no...

Re: What would you pay for Harvard? Should I even be considering it?

What I've gathered about Harvard is that once you're 29 and they stop looking at your parents' money entirely (and the percentage drops the few years before this), the need-based aid can actually be pretty sweet (assuming you haven't amassed a small fortune on your own by then). Also, their LRAP is...

Re: WUSTL (full ride) vs T14 (at sticker) for Public Interest

Unless you have a monster split in your stats that $$ difference doesn't make sense.

But FWIW if you go to a T14 and have that much debt it will probably take you 3-7 months before you decide that you're "just going to do biglaw for a few years to pay off loans"

I finally submitted my application today! I'm a native Oregonian from the Willamette Valley and attend...

Similar question-- would it be crazy to turn down the Rubenstein for full sticker at Harvard? You gotta remember that Harvard just cranks out graduat...

Re: Class of 2021: we're basically 1.5Ls now

I discovered today that the all genders bathroom in the quiet area of the library has a couch (I don't frequent the quiet area often). If I ever need a 2 AM cry at the law school, I think that may be a winning location for it. There, there buddy. We all need a toilet couch cry every now and then.

Re: Any reason NOT to retake?

Other than "because Yale might ding me if I score lower than my first LSAT score," is there any reason to not retake when I didn't score a 180 on my first and only LSAT, and I have a fee waiver that allows me to take a second LSAT for free? I'd argue that even with a 179, it would still be worth a ...
