Apply to NYU and CLS, too
I think I missed the deadline. I just applied to H, C, and B.

Re: 4.0 T50 transfer advice

You're in a great spot! I'm at a 3.97 (top 4%) but at low T2. I applied to Harvard (lol), Chicago, and Berkeley. I fully expect to get dinged at all three but I don't mind staying at my T2 with $$$ so I won't be heartbroken either way.

Re: 2020 transfers

Really hoping to get into Harvard but I know it's a Hail Mary from my lower T2. I think I'm either #1, 2, or 3 after 1L. Still waiting on one grade and then the formal rank. I want Harvard and that sweet need-based financial aid.

Re: 2020 transfers

3.6 GPA (top 15%ish) from a strong T1. I’m wondering if it’s worth it to put it some transfer apps, if my grades stay the same or bump me up. End goal is AUSA or BigFed. I really want a federal clerkship as well, before doing a few years of Big Law. I say do it! Top 15% is pretty good. When do you ...

Re: How hard is it to get a C?

At my school you have to do pretty poorly to get a C. I think only like 2-3 students out of 45 or so get a C. A C is like an: discretionary. If the professor doesn't think anybody deserves a C I don't believe they have to give one out.

Re: Pacific Northwest Law Schools

I personally would have dropped out of my PNW school if I didn't hit top 20%... Please try not to encourage this mindset on the forum. Dropping out is of course an option but it has its own deleterious effects once someone is on the law school train, and I don't want people to sandbag themselves em...

Re: Pacific Northwest Law Schools

I'm a 1L at a PNW law school. I honestly think your best best is going to one of the local schools and finishing top third or better. I get asked about my ties to the area all the time, and I'm thankful I have deep ties and don't have to fake it. You'd be fine going to a T10 and doing well, but be ...

Y'all think GULC is worth sticker for two years? I wouldn't hesitate for Boalt or Harvard, but I do have some reservations about GULC.

Stats: top 1% (fall semester) at a T2. Applying to GULC, Boalt, Duke, Harvard (lol) and maybe UVA. Why not CLS/NYU? I'm not very confident going into finals. I'm sure that I'll stay top 5% or so, but I focused too much this semester on the 1L summer job hunt and extracurricular activities. Also, my...

Does a waitlist as a 0L help as a transfer

Hi all,

Do you think being waitlisted the first go around is something adcoms consider? If so, do you think it is worth a significant bump?

Re: My new personal statement

This comes off as defensive, which is problematic. You want to showcase your strengths instead of apologizing for and explaining your GPA. The overall tone is one of pity rather than purpose. I suggest framing a stronger narrative about your career goals instead of focusing on your hardships as much...

Re: Duke transfer

I just added 1L GPA stats for each school since 2014 into my stickied Guide. Remember, law school rank actually matters in transfer admissions. For a TT, you want to be above the 75th percentile for Duke. With your 4.00+ GPA, you have a good shot at Duke. However, Duke has a preference for southern...

This really motivates me to study hard for finals. I'm going to apply to Harvard (a guy can dream), Duke, UVA, and Berkeley. If I don't get in then I'll just stay put and keep debt low.

Re: Duke transfer

Thanks a lot for the response. I'm happy to hear you think I have a decent chance if my grades stay the same. Do you think my school's rank will strongly work against me, or will a 4.0+ overpower that?

I would also love to hear from some TT to t14 transfers regarding their experience.

Thank you,

Duke transfer

Hi all, Does anybody have any information on transfer to Duke? I'm having trouble finding transfer states (like median 1L GPA) for Duke since their transfer class is so small.
