Re: AA 3.6/172. HYS?
It seems 3.6 might be a little low for T6 named scholarships save AnBryce or Root, so a higher LSAT may not mitigate that. There were some URMs with stats in this range that got WL'd from HLS this cycle, but that was the exception rather than the rule. A 3.6 should be good for other named scholarshi...

Re: AA Male 3.5 GPA 171 LSAT Law School Chances
You can and will do a lot better than UT. The T6, UVA and Duke will get you to Texas just fine (with more room for error). The rest of the T14 will work well too, but with a little more hustle. Also, I got better aid offers from schools in the T13 than I did from UT, even when considering cost of li...

Howard is probably your best bet outside of the T20, but you should really, really consider shooting for T13.

I took a nice week long trip to the other side of the country right after moving in. I can’t imagine how I would be occupying my time if I were just alone in my apartment every day

Re: URM 2018/19 Applicants Thread
Different people have different opinions but I personally needed every pixel possible to write the best PS and DS i could. It was hard to cut out stuff. Because of that, I advise doing it separately. Also I recommend against it because it’ll be entirely too easy to accidentally upload your PS with t...

So apparently my class is the guinea pig set for this new pre-1L online course "Zero L" Worked through the first few modules and it's like high school civics level stuff. I mean everyone taking it got into harvard, i'm pretty sure we all know about the separation of powers and common vs civil law a...

From Penn to Duke, YES. Cornell and Northwestern asl for it in their apps now as well.
But it’s not 100% necessary. I got the Darrow from Michigan without writing one.

Re: Chance Me! 165 LSAT, 2.8, AA Male
If you hit 170, your options open way up. You start looking at UT, Georgetown, Penn and UVA as reasonable options (although with not much money if any) on top of NU and WashU, as all schools have been known to take heavy URM splitters. Depending on your work experience and the strength of your app, ...

Can I join if I'm deferring to the class of 2022? We're already in here, though I don't know what we can do since all the neurosis of applying is long gone lol I'm mostly here to post "I waited a full six months for a JS1 and still got accepted outright, take a deep breath" in the Harvard thread on...

Re: BrainsyK's Guide to Pre-OCI
This is very very helpful information - thank you for taking the time to write this! If we do end up with a 1L SA, are we disadvantaged if we want to keep our options open for OCI because our ability to do Pre-OCI will be severely hampered (if not impossible)? Or is the presumption that people who d...

Re: 2017-2018 SEO Law Fellowship Applicants
Any advice on how to apply? The application by and large duplicates your application for school (i.e. they ask for your resume, your personal and diversity statements, and have a section for an addendum of sorts). so the more you polish those, the better you are for SEO. There's not really more adv...

For diverse law students, how would we go about figuring out which firms source their work from the Fortune 500 vs. the finance industry as a sort of proxy for the extent to which a firm might care about diversity (even if forced)

Is there no Class of 2022 thread yet for us reapplicants? I'm very happy to see you are reapplying. I'm predicting a KILLER cycle. Might still be 2021 if CCN want to surprise me with money off the WL, but 90% reapplying. Ditto on being super happy to see that you are reapplying! add me to the categ...

It’s hard for any of us to know because Yale is a huge crapshoot. You’re probably better having a score within the LSAT interquartile range, but Yale can be picky.

You need to retake if you want Yale. HS are possible, but Yale would be out.

my moral dropped even lower than it was when i put in my notice back in may.
but now for my summer gig my productivity has soared, even knowing I'm done at the end of the month. If anything, I'm wondering how I'll finish everything by then.
