(unlike things like growing wheat in your yard for your own consumption). My apologies that you're the one I'm unloading this pet peeve on, but: Why in the heck does everyone want to read that case as "for his own consumption"? The dude was growing wheat to feed to cows to produce milk that he sold...

So, did folks see that Davis Polk raised the stakes a bit?

Re: Should I buy a LSAT Strategy Guide?

You do need to get some more recent PTs, from at least the 70s or 80s. Not sure how high they've published, but the RC in particular was getting tougher about the time I took mine (September 2017). If you find the RC from more recent years is more challenging, I found the Manhattan RC book helpful b...

Re: 179 3.8 t-6

Yeah, historically, your odds are good, though we don't know what the spike means for someone with your numbers. And of course, there might be a bigger scholarship a bit lower in the t13, so don't write the rest of them off.

Re: Employment Statistics by School - C/O 2020 rolling out + C/O 2012-2019 data

I wonder if there's a way to account for self-selection of HYS folks into elite PI, government, and other "unicorn" and top-flight outcomes. There may not be anything measurable. But maybe it's moot as BL+FC could easily be 100 percent at each of those schools if every student aimed for one of thos...

Re: Employment Statistics by School - C/O 2020 rolling out + C/O 2012-2019 data

We're now far enough along that I can present my rolling averages for the bulk of the schools that consistently place at least a quarter of their class in BLFC jobs. I might be missing a few around the edges, and I'm definitely missing this year's data for Howard, which is usually part of this group...

Re: Employment Statistics by School - C/O 2020 rolling out + C/O 2012-2019 data

Yeah, wouldn’t necessarily call 18.8 BLFC “average strength.” Still below average, even graded on the curve of the NYC market. 18.8 isn't just average, it's above average. There's a whole lot of schools that don't even punch in at 10% in a typical year. Cardozo has the disadvantage of proximity to ...

Re: PSA for 2021-22 Applicants: Avoid Notre Dame Like the Plague

Yeah, my own school was overenrolled in the year ahead of me. They dealt with it, in part, by offering significant scholarship bumps to folks willing to defer. Notre Dame could have honored its acceptances without creating a bank rush, if they were operating in good faith.

Duke's is out. https://law.duke.edu/sites/default/files/career/ABAReport-Class2020.pdf (I would do the calculations for you but I don't remember what BL is considered--250+?) Only one unemployed, but fed clerk numbers dropped way back down to 25. We've traditionally used 101+ in this thread, so Duk...

Georgetown - 61.6% (+5.8%) WUSTL - 57.4% (+5.1%) Georgia - 29.7% (-3.5%) Illinois - 30.9% (-9.0%) Wash U has been showing significant improvement the past few years. Wonder why. Dean Clifford's strategy of "throw money at everyone" has attracted a corps of solid students, I think. But honestly, I d...

Re: Employment Statistics by School - C/O 2020 rolling out + C/O 2012-2019 data

Northwestern - 74.6% (+3.3%) As a Northwestern grad, the 2020 report is pretty wild. The BL+FC number is up, which is cool and all, but 15 students were unemployed and seeking work. That's up from 3 students in 2019 and 4 students in 2018. The pandemic obviously created some losers in this mess. As...

Northwestern - 74.6% (+3.3%)
Fordham - 50.4% (+1.7%)
William & Mary - 30.2% (+8.0%)

(Arizona Law has made its report available, but falls at less than 10%, so I leave it to those who care to seek it out.)

Re: Help Me Decide (Penn/UVA/Michigan)

Look, if the money is good *and* you'd be happier at Michigan, that's a pretty sweet combo. It's one of the very few schools that truly places around the country (there are several that *can*, but only a handful really *do*). That's obviously no guarantee of getting a particular city that you want, ...
