Re: Washington & Lee C/O 2022 Applicants

Hopefully this thread is still active! Went UR today, really hoping for the best. I'm a splitter so I have no idea what to expect. Can anyone comment on what it's like for people targeting out of state jobs? I'm hoping to go JAG but also do legal aid or state gov't work in my home state of Californ...

Re: BC, BU, Fordham, Cardozo, Cornell?

Thanks! Should I retake? I don’t know if I’m willing to move that far. the Boston schools don’t look promising with my current stats.. So, there are a few ways to evaluate whether you should retake. First, do you feel like you maximized your potential on the test? To determine that, look at a few t...

Cardozo is a lock, Cornell is out, the others aren't unreasonable goals. If you're willing to look beyond NY and MA, there's some good money for applicants like you at Midwest state schools.

My Android's default clock app (the one I set my alarm with) includes a timer function. You might have something like that already.

Yeah, everything but Contracts is taken on the laptop, but there's also a digital clock on the wall. My wife commandeered the watch I used for the LSAT, so I can't even just break that out, but I doubt I really need to.

Re: 3.65, 165, Strong Softs, T14?

If by outside shot you mean "Hail Mary", yeah, that's pretty accurate. Michigan and Georgetown look like better than 50% for similar applicants recently, and the rest of the lower t14 are in the 20-50% band. One more point would improve that dramatically, too. You've reached the point where you may ...

My back of the envelope math says you should be over the GPA floor. Now you just need an elite test score to go with it.

Re: Odds at Acceptance to HLS?

As for GPA thresholds, those are quite apparent from Harvard applicant data on LSN. You basically want above a 3.7, and even that is for 99th percentile LSAT scores. Below that, it appears to be a higher GPA requirement. I have no data on the other three questions, but would be shocked if the streng...

W&L is open to negotiations. I wasn't in a particularly strong position, and still managed a modest increase. As always, be polite about asking for more money. McGuireWoods definitely recruits W&L - they were here hosting a dinner for us 1Ls earlier this year, and sent a number of alumni. Hunton re...

Re: Washington & Lee C/O 2022 Applicants

Congratulations! The school is pretty chill. They try to keep a total enrollment of under 400, which means your class year is going to be a smaller one (my class is about 130, the one ahead of us is about 150). That size really helps you build personal relationships with the faculty. For instance, ...
