Re: This Year vs Next?

(1) Total applications this year are still going to be lower than they were in any year between 1983 and 2013 (I don't have data on years prior to 1983). (2) The modest (8%) increase in applications over last year may be in part a product of falling prices. Average effective tuition at ABA law scho...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

I posted this on reddit but wanted to make sure everyone here sees it too, involving probably the most common WL mistake. GL everyone who is tring to get off a WL! You only have so many good reasons to contact and admissions office. People are understandably proactive, and there is a belief that it'...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Good morning! I’m pretty much done with my cycle and know where I’ll be attending in the fall. Just wanted to stop by here and thank the Spivey team for supporting LSL and answering our questions (for free! ;)). Thanks so much! Thanks for noticing! Someone mentioned today we should just take all of...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

To Spivey Team, Thank you for doing this, I cant put in words how much I love you guys <3. I've sent an updated resume to a school a bit more than a month ago and I was waitlisted few days after. From then, I 've gotten more duty from my internship and I was lucky to be able to publish a few articl...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Spivey and Co., Thanks for all you do. I applied late (Feb- March) to T-14 schools with a 172 Feb LSAT Score and 3.7X. So far I've gotten into UVA and Penn at Sticker and 90k at Cornell. I was WL'd at Michigan and was also rejected at HLS (too late to apply to SLS). In deciding when and where to at...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

They voted to abolish the standardized test requirement. But it's a bit complicated (schools will use some test) and still has to pass another vote. Bottom line will impact two cycles from now much more than the upcoming. I tweeted a link to the dynamics of the whole thing.

Re: This Year vs Next?

There was info on this I read over somewhere buried in the Spivey AMA/thread. Don’t remember it well enough to regurgitate it though. Yes that's what I've heard. I guess i'll try digging for it again. Thanks! Middle of page 9 it is mentioned. Mike mentions he will be doing a blog in April on why he...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Not sure where to plant this, but i hope 0L's can watch too. It's a full video of a law school class that is really, really good. I discuss what it covers in the blog, but among other things should you go to law school (I asked the question from the gallery), how to balance long hours with a life an...

We (Spivey Consulting Group) are seeking an intern

Just a quick heads, especially for people applying this coming cycle. My firm is going to be doing some relatively sophisticated data mining and analysis for law schools this year and we need someone to help. If something like this excites you:http://cerl.wustl.edu or if you google some of the resea...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Know your law school deposit deadlines: http://blog.spiveyconsulting.com/know-your-law-school-deposit-deadlines/ Why? because it has major ramifications on wait list movement and LOCI submission post decline dates. There's also a hidden date that has even more implications than the above. I'll expla...
