Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Hey Spivey, Are we still sticking to the predictions for the upcoming cycle in light of July lsat scores? Do we still expect that the number of high scorers will be lower this year? Well, I grow slightly less confident in my already least confident prediction blog, but yes, if someone had a gun to ...

Hey, Spivey. We doing forum fantasy football again this year?
Not me, my schedule is too crazy and I'm in one which is more than I have time for. If LSL does one, though, I'll give the winner free advice on scholarships or job search issues.

Happy 4th everyone! I think we may be a little off the grid for the next few days so here is a directory we put together of all our different blog topics. If you are working on applications, LSAT or WL activity over the next few days I hope these help! https://blog.spiveyconsulting.com/directory-of-...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Hey Spivey Team, Can this—https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/03/politics/trump-administration-college-admissions/index.html—have a somewhat negative impact on URM applicants next cycle? Thanks I'm trying to get a more firm grasp on it myself -- but I highly doubt it. Grutter v. Bollinger still is the over...

This isn't groundbreaking stuff, but there is some interesting data in here, including the all-time record and the average per applicant (6.2 if you don't want to read the blog), plus what we recommend. Hope it gives a starting point if nothing else! https://blog.spiveyconsulting.com/how-many-law-sc...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Dear Spivey, Thanks for all you do. I have a question on the impact of GRE on law school admissions. There are also some major key differences between the LSAT and GRE I would love to hear your thoughts on. For top percentile scorers of the LSAT (97-99 percentile), there is a much finer distinction...

Re: Spivey Consulting Q&A with Adcoms from Yale, Harvard, Penn, Chicago etc.

Hey Spivey team, I just saw your tweet: "Something to keep in mind for this upcoming law school admissions cycle. Schools are likely granting more deferrals which means some “deposited admit” numbers will start off higher than in past year. This mean essentially a class size reduction to applicants...

Re: This Year vs Next?

(1) Total applications this year are still going to be lower than they were in any year between 1983 and 2013 (I don't have data on years prior to 1983). (2) The modest (8%) increase in applications over last year may be in part a product of falling prices. Average effective tuition at ABA law scho...

You only have so many good reasons to contact and admissions office. People are understandably proactive, and there is a belief that it'...

To Spivey Team, Thank you for doing this, I cant put in words how much I love you guys <3. I've sent an updated resume to a school a bit more than a month ago and I was waitlisted few days after. From then, I 've gotten more duty from my internship and I was lucky to be able to publish a few articl...
