How achievable is an in-house gig straight out of school? Biglaw sounds awful.
it's doable but i don't think you're likely to get an in-house job with a good career trajectory straight out of law school. biglaw isn't that bad in secondary markets.

Re: Asking for old job back after lateral move

it's not uncommon to go back. we have taken back a bunch of people who left on good terms. it can't hurt to ask - even if they're not hiring now, they'll know you're interested in coming back.

Re: Severance in Biglaw Require an NDA?

just go through the facts / timing and tell them you think more severance is warranted under the circumstances, then ask for 9 months if you actually want 6. worst case they'll say no, take it or leave the 3 months. i guess they could pull the offer entirely, but seems unlikely.

agree w johannes. more money and less responsibility for longer. idk why you wouldn't do it unless your ego can't handle it

Re: MTO (Reportedly) Requiring Summers to Sign Arbitration Agreement

i've never been asked to sign one. i'm not sure i believe that it's market practice. if so, that's pretty messed up.
