Re: Corona Effects on Transferring

@socalgalinnorcal I suspect that this is going to be an interesting year for transfers, because everyone everywhere got knocked off their intended stride. Much as my previous advice, I recommend asking on the Spivey thread because he and his team have actually worked in law school admissions. He has...

A lot of things are up in the air, if there is anyone who could give a decent answer to this I would suspect that it would be the folks over in the Spivey thread.

Re: Will Coronavirus Mean Budget Cuts (And Lost Jobs?)

I work for a company that specializes in computer forensics/incident response. We are stopping in person interviews moving to phone and online interviews only. A year ago, the company rarely hired people for primarily remote, but that has been slowly changing. It looks like in the near future, we wi...

Re: Will Coronavirus Mean Budget Cuts (And Lost Jobs?)

It is hard to say how things are going to work out. My take is that while some organizations will take a financial hit, I suspect that state and federal governments will likely hold up better than companies will.

Re: Which bar exam should I take?

I am working in Virginia (not in the legal field) for a company with offices in VA, NY, IL, TX, CA. I am contemplating taking the bar in DC, in order to gain a UBE score that would have some potential portability as I decide what is next for me and my family. As an added bonus, DC does not appear to...

Would it be inappropriate for a (former ?) Harvard student to wear a Harvard neck tie to a court hearing where they are suing the University?

Well my deposition finally took place, after being pushed down the road by the Plaintiff multiple times.

Perhaps the most interesting part was that he presented me with a print out of this thread. Suggesting that this is proof of my ongoing efforts to harass him.

If they haven't bailed on coat and tie yet, why would they make any substantive changes?

Re: Is there time to pursue hobbies in law school (and as a lawyer)?

Law school has tons of free time - probably even more than UG, because you don't have as many club activities in law school. This seems to be a fair statement for full-time students with law school as their primary focus. Those who work full-time and go to law school may find free time rather limit...

A year or two ago (when DC first switched to UBE) the stories out of the bar exam at DC were rough (long wait times, confusion about test booklets, delays that put back the test by hours...).

How did it go this time?

As jobs went away in the crash that followed the 90s tech boom, so did many of the perks for those jobs that remained. Time will tell what becomes of the current jobs and their perks hold up if they are not backed by ever increasing stock prices and venture capital.
