I would say yes in a heartbeat, but that’s because it sounds way more interesting to me than the other and would probably lead to other more interesting stuff, and would probably more directly use your JD. Not sure what the work life balance is going to look like though.

Sounds like a sweet job. If you don’t wanna ever be a lawyer again, take the job.

(You Probably wanna scrub this page of identifying information. Like the Linkedin link.)

If you’re comfortable with closing off future prospects of attorney roles in your career, I’d say this looks like a pretty sweet gig. Hell, I know former biglaw midlevels who left for in-house legal gigs that pay less than that so they could have a 9-5 job. Usually I would tell people to approach retail banking roles with caution because it’s subject to vagaries of the market and branch closures/consolidations but military-adjacent credit unions are probably the most immune to that.

If you’re fine with the nature of the work (it isn’t going to make you claw your eyes out with boredom or frustration or anything) and you’re not really interested in sticking with legal practice, it sounds great to me. I have a hard time seeing them making you stay late or work weekends.

Is the NFCU job going to be as cushy as an average fed gov job? I thought you wanted cushy.

Yeah. GS11 is like $60-70k. $100k + bonus is a lot better.
